Clove Hitch in Arboriculture
Uses: The clove hitch is an easy-to-tie mid-line knot and comes in very useful for such things as sending a saw up to a climber. When used in this manner it readily falls open when the karabiner is unclipped. The clove hitch can slip if overloaded and also has a tendency to bind in the same circumstances.
Pros and Cons: Suitable for lighter applications with minimal weight bearing needed.
