Distel Hitch in Arboriculture
Uses: A closed friction hitch that releases easily under load and tends smoothly. Doesn't perform as well as the Valdotain or Knut hitch but is more reliable and suited better to the climber making the transition to closed friction hitches.
Suggested Cordage Size: 8-10mm on 11.13mm host line.
Pros and Cons: Suitable for lighter applications with minimal weight bearing needed.
