How to charge biochar?

Think we have discussed charging biochar before can't find it.

Wanting to make good use of the waste from our small scale charcoal making. I have tried putting the waste on the garden as is but not noticed any difference thus far. Wondering if simple compost heap loaded with nettles, green waste and the biochar would work.

I would not expect to see an improvement on good soils. The perceived wisdom is that biochar provides sites for water retention and associated microbes which recycle nutrients and prevents them leaching away.

Protagonists suggest using urine.

It's importance is more likely to be in the fact that it can distributively be used to sequester carbon.

Yeah, mixed in the compost heap should do it. There are supposed to be synergies to be had from co-composting. Basically all the things that make it good to have in the soil improve the composting process, too, but with many of the same caveats.

Thats great.
