Husqavarna choke sticking on even after throttle blip

Hi guys - I've got a Husqavarna XP 560 and the red choke lever sticks on when I start the saw from cold and can't be blipped off with the throttle lever. Can anyone think what may be causing this(it did receive a big knock a while back which may have done something!?)? I've tried copious amounts of WD40 and also 3 in one oil but to no avail. It's not really a big deal just annoying for what is otherwise a good punchy ground saw!:001_smile:

You can't " blip it off " Once its coughed you push it right back down and it will spring back to the Ignition ON position . The ignition is always on . The bliping thing you refer to is not choke but half/quarter throttle setting for starting .

OK sure I meant the spring-loaded throttle-link thing. My choke lever stays rigidly wherever you set it regardless of the throttle squeeze - if that makes sense?:confused1:

Yea . The actual red choke lever does not respond to any throttle movement . So you are saying it wont come off half throttle when you start it ? So presumably it will race at idle with the chain spinning ?

It should drop half way when you press the throttle, sound like you are missing a spring.

I would take pictures if you are going to take it apart, It always makes putting it back together easier.

You've got it! After pulling the starter cord it fires you then blip the throttle lever but the choke lever stays where it is and so the engine dies and you have to manually reset the choke lever and pull again!:thumbup1: I can't think where to or how the spring could have sprung off though!

The choke lever stays where it is on mine . When it fires you push it down manually . The red choke lever/ignition will spring to the ignition on potion once you push it down to off choke . . .I TAKE IT ALL BACK ! just been out to try mine and yes you lift it up squeeze the trigger and it drops , just like you say it should ! I have had it from 2011 and always pushed it back down with my thumb ! Doh ! Thanks ! ...Take yours to your dealer ....

I've compared my XP 560 to a workmates and his choke lever is linked as I have described (m:thumbup1:aybe it never worked from new?!). Have a look under the engine cover at the throttle cable action when the choke is on.
