Bar plastic ID

Good afternoon.

I was wondering if someone could help ID a bit of plastic that I've only noticed today when the chain came off the bar.

The chain no longer goes on smoothly as theres a few links with small notches or slightly bent where they slot into the bar.

A new chain will sort that out, but I can't figure out what the plastic in the picture is? I had a thought it could have been to do with the chain tensioner but haven't seen any pictures with the plastic inserted in the bar.

Is it safe to pop another chain on and use, or is it a visit to a dealer for a bar fix or new bar?

It looks like a new bar, was it on a new saw?

If so, it was the spacer that mr Husqvarna put in to stop the clutch cover warping as the bar nuts are tightened with no bar on.

When you first put the bar on, it should have been taken off. If it wasn't the bar was on wonky and the chain running off-center explaining all your symptoms...

That's exactly what I thought! Those spacers are white!

Good argument for not selling chainsaws in the box!:blushing:

Good argument for putting a piece of paper in the box telling you to take the spacers off before fitting bar
