Do you ask customers how they heard of you? It could be a good move to get an idea of where to focus your marketing (i.e. papers, website, online directories, local magazines, flyer drops or whatever you've been doing). Definitely keep an eye on everything you've been doing to see how successful each method is - using some kind of code that customers can quote (usually for a discount, not sure how it would work for you offering this) but making the code different on each type of marketing material is a great way to track how people are finding you.

If you can get some local papers to publish helpful articles which just have your company name & contact details at the bottom that could also encourage people as you would be a clear professional.

If alot of customers come through your website then perhaps some paid Google ads (PPC ads)?

Hope it all goes well! :)

Hi,

This is my first post, but I thought that I could contribute to the discussion.

I would recommend that you try adding your details onto a site called Freeindex

My wife makes cakes (wedding cakes, etc) in her spare time and we get a lot of calls via this site. We are at a stage where we are turning work away.

The good thing is that you don't need to have a website. You enter your details and locations covered. It is based on a rating system. The more customer feedback you have the better. Once this has been set up I would send an email to those that you have done work for and get them to write a short review. The more recommendation you have more confidence new clients will have in your company and hopefully the more business you will get.

Good luck.

haven't gone ahead with it yet but properly will. Was quoted £150.00 for the month. Im in two minds weather its worth it or not. What do you think ?:001_smile:

Sounds like quite a good idea. I've thought about it before. How many times will your advert be played per day/week etc?
