How to advertise?

I subcontract for a company most of the time and want to keep busy at weekends and odd days that im off...

 

Just wondering what route you take as in advertise in the paper, letter drops or just busy through word of mouth.....

 

also pics of leaflets/business cards maybe....?

 

after all its no good my climbing kit sat in my garage looking pretty i want to get using it!

On your days off, start dropping a5 leaflets, it wont be long before you dont have odd days to do it! thats how I got going.

same as above get some leaflets out also look into those little parish magazines get advert next to gardening tips section. Work will come in then word of mouth will take over

Local papers arent too good, Word of mouth and doing a good job is a cracking advert!!

Just be careful you don't start treading on the toes of the firm you subby for, otherwise you might find you need to find work for yourself for more than just weekends.

The little magazines that Go round your local area are a good start. Work out cheap too. I'm in the process of organising 2 months of advertising for £88 on a quarter page. This one goes to 10000 homes. If I get a 0.5% return on that it's 50 jobs! That should help get me going.

 

Newspapers tend to be costly, as does printing lealfets. 10,000 leaflets from anywhere else is well into the hundreds. So it's a massive saving too. Plus it can be paid back in one job!

Try http://www.vistaprint.co.uk I find them very cost effective and useful to hand out business cards to customers so they have your number and can pass it on

no its the Connection Magazine, delivered to most of this town, regardless of value i think.
