Carving out a niche: Artist uses chainsaw to create tree masterpieces | Mail Online

Hi, got myself a used Husky 357xp with a 20" bar - was running fine & dandy until I made my own 2 stroke mix and the saw stopped working after about 5 mins running. I know I added the right amount of synthetic 2 stroke oil, but perhaps it just wasn't mixed in enough ? An expensive lesson learnt! Anyway took it to the local Husky French dealer (I'm in France) who quoted €470 to fix it....I know I can get a new one for not much more, but wondering if it's worth buying the OEM parts off Ebay (piston & cylinder) & replace them. My questions are: Is this worth doing? How tough is this job? Are there other things that will also need replacing at the same time as the Piston & Cylinder? Any guidance much appreciated. Nick

I can't take my chainsaw on the plane? | Bluffton Today

Hi I've got a Makita DCS3410TH that I bought in France three years ago. It's been sat idle in the garage for eighteen months, and won't start now. Not being a mechanic I'm scrabbling around for info to try and avoid having to pay someone to change a widget and get it back up and running. What are the things I should check out? Something dried out.......?

Hi there all Can anyone please suggest some individuals/companies that are well renowned for quality NPTC refresher training. The units I wish to take are CS30, 31, 32, 38, 39. Preferably London or somewhere South East England. Thanks

Petemate_390xp has done an awesome job on my 395xp, well worth the money if you want a hot saw without the risk of killing the engine. mine is tuned for carving work so I can get those big blocks off quickly. get in touch with him if you want the most out of your saws!!!

Hello all I am currently doing a lvl3 award in arboriculture and have been asked to do a 50 page assigment. I chose to do differences in performance and prices in leading brand chainsaws. It will mostly be covering the 2 main marketers, Stihl and Husqy But i have also chosen to cover the less admired manuafacturers e.g. ryobi, makita and echo. I would be very grateful if everyone could leave a comment on what their fave saw is and reasons why, also what would be handy is putting down the worst saws you've used, and reasons why. any help will be greatly appreciated chappys
