  1. Although whoever felled the first one might be playing "Waiting for tonight" Jennifer Lopez
  2. "Coming back to life" Pink Floyd.
  3. We've just finished watching that Jill Dando thing on Netflix. Makes me think if someone can murder her in broad daylight in front of her house and get away with it the chances for finding the assailant here isn't looking good🤣 TBF you can be a twat without a conscience but not necessarily stupid. We'll see I guess....
  4. That famous Lincoln quote comes to mind.
  5. Not being funny but if he's a timber man (or lumberjack as everyone is calling him) he's probably going to have more than one saw. He's not going to leave the murder weapon in plain site is he. He's had plenty of time to squirrel it away somewhere.
  6. I don't understand. From the article his own farm/campsite is owned by Jesuits who have recently evicted him, so he cuts a tree down on NT land? Would that be because tree brings alot of tourism to the campsite etc?
  7. Not much help but have found Dyson to be the biggest overated pile of shite ever. I bought the other half one of those top of the range expensive cordless ones that were all the rage a few years ago. Terrible thing- so noisy I almost felt the need to wear earmuffs. Would jam up on the most benign household filth, and plasticy as you like, oh an the battery would last for about 5 mins on full power. Complete gimmick. We have a Henry. It's been very reliable and good enough suction that I haven't felt the need to look elsewhere- but sure there are some probably on the market that will suck harder if that's your thing ...
  8. Your reading into it wrong. I first put it up in retort to the many who had previously suggested it was a disgruntled tenant/landowner. So yes an article about their sheep being attacked by dogs at Sycamore gap would seem to back this up. It was an article for discussion which this thread is all about and on balance i concluded that it was unlikely to be them based on my above reasons and that the son in the article clearly wasn't the 16 yr old suspect. Pretty much every newspaper has plastered pictures today of a man (current suspect)who hasn't even been convicted yet. If that was ever a case for morally wrong that would be it- but that's the world we live in and I bet you've read the articles too so no need to come over all holier than thou...
  9. Laughable really. A thread full of entire speculation (including from you) and you pull me up on this? Must be your first day on the internet so let me explain- that article (yeah the one in which I say it's unlikely to be them/the farmer) is not something I've pulled out from a filing cabinet locked away in Northumberland police department and then posted on here, it's an old article freely available to the entire population to read as they wish. It doesn't take an Einstein to work out that if this thread is based on pure speculation about it being farmers/farmers son (as you alluded to btw, tut tut.) the first thing one might do is actually Google to is the tenant of this area- it really took me about 15 seconds to find it out, you can read it and make what you want of it.
  10. Yes I know, I wasn't suggesting that the article was the reason specifically but just highlighting that they've obviously had issues in the past as most farmers will have when the public come on to their land en masse. Personally I'd doubt it was the farmer tbh- they're generally pretty in touch with local sentiment and the vulnerability of upsetting the apple cart so to speak. Long time generational farming family. Even if there tenancy had been terminated prior to this for whatever reason- they'd have to be pretty idiotic to do something like this and expect to be successful taking on another tenancy elsewhere.
  11. Farmer's fury after sheep is mauled in dog attack WWW.HEXHAM-COURANT.CO.UK A FARMING family has claimed that a dog walker left one of their sheep for dead after a vicious attack by... I can see that such a popular spot could have been cause for contention. This kind of thing going on and other such things not that it excuses doing this 😡 That's the son- clearly not a 16 yr old. The father could be in his 60s though. All speculation of course. Was the tree actually protected? Got a feeling whoever did perhaps knew it wasn't..?
  12. Looking at the photos who ever did it went to the effort of spraying a white line around it prior to cutting it down- not sure why?
  13. Agree. The new Hilux is 3.5t so you'd think itd make sense for the land cruiser to match that at least sonit appeals more to the horsey/caravan brigade never mind commercial operators. I think the new land cruiser due for next year is 3.5t though?
  14. Nice commercial. What's the towing rating on those. I think they have a 3.0l in them so would expect them to pull well?
  15. Cars probably kill far more birds than wind turbines and cats combined . I haven't got a link for that before anyone asks😂
  16. Arthritis? My back doesn't like sitting on the machine for too long either- it's worse all day in the machine than grafting for a day- I find regular little walks every hour or two helps.
  17. 100% .Never answer my phone unless I know who it is. And even then generally let it run to answerphone so I can get a jist of what they want, prepares me for ringing them back! If they can't leave a message and wait for me to get back to them then they're not going to like the 6 months wait for me to do the job either🤣
  18. Unlikely if there is no dash lights, m and s lights. Does the screen on the dash register what your changing Into. The xyz is prone to playing up but wouldn't think it'd give up the ghost entirely with no movements in Reverse, Drive 123 etc. Are there any new dash lights at all?
  19. Exactly my experience with it too. New Xyz switches are getting hard to get hold of and flipping expensive but generally they can be repaired I think. Disco 2s are cracking trucks I think. They've started making galv chassis replacements for them which hopefully will give them some longevity going into the future.
  20. Air con drains pretty much on to the xyz switch which causes alot of the problems- not the finest idea landrover have had. You can take them apart clean them all up and reseal which is what mine has just had done- works fine now.
  21. Could be, I think it would be throwing up the M & S lights on the dash though, mine has just had xyz switch repaired (£600 for a new one!). OP- when you select from neutral to drive does it register it on the dash screen?
  22. I'd never ever hire my kit out unless it was something I could easily live without. Occasionally I'll let a customer use my dumper whilst I'm on site at the same time. Without fail they nearly all drive merrily away with the handbrake still on!
  23. Makes sense, when stuck behind them I've often thought cyclists have psychopathic tendancies.
  24. Oh you mean seat belt. Sometimes I wear a weightlifters belt which keeps pressure on the lower back. It's no substitute for using your back carefully but does help a bit. My back isn't great, regular chiropractor trips help as do pilate style exercises and good posture. TBh anything over 20kg and I get the machine to lift it if poss- try and preserve what I have...
