  1. Doesn't take long to clog the flue on the tent stove, just emptied it on Friday and was clogged again yesterday The contents of two cleans in the pic
  2. Does anybody use this as firewood, I burn it in a canvas tent along with some larch, Birch and any hardwood I manage to pick up I haven't got a burner in the house yet, but am looking into either a wood or multi fuel stove for the future Cheers 20251013_161054.mp4

  7. Pics are of some trees growing out of farm drainage ditches, are these wayfaring trees,.. Cheers
  8. I've done my cross cutting and maintenance, and small tree felling tickets, half way through the week of training I met an employer and have got a job to go into next month, getting some tickets opens doors, and is a very good way to meet new contacts
  9. Good stuff, be nice burning some oak wood, I used to camp at a place that has some oak trees, the seasoned branch wood was a good slow burner in the firebox
  10. Sounds nice that mate Think there's around thirty plots in this wood There's only two fairly young oaks in here, but there is some impressive mature oaks in other parts of the wood Do you camp in your wood? I'm out tonight, think it's going to be a cold one, but nice with the wood stove going
  11. Cheers WP No not selling, the wood will be used in here, either as building material, or firewood I usually cut low then level the stumps off at near ground level, these couple of larch had a twist in the bottom of the trunk, and I thought they might spin off in the wrong direction so cut the notches in a bit higher
  12. Cheers, I was a bit dubious of felling this Larch, it had a slight lean on it along with its neighbouring tree after storm Arwen, but had they uprooted themselves they would have landed on top of my camp, glad to say they landed where I planned for
  13. It's in Northumberland mate, and it is my interest, I'm not a trained forester, or tree worker, got a background in horticulture, but I'd like to do something in tree work in the future
  14. Habitat piles Dead hedging, and some regeneration of foxglove, Rowan, Sitka spruce, and Silver Birch
  15. These two pics were taken a day apart before and after storm Arwen
  16. I've been working on a few acres of mainly Sitka spruce, and Silver Birch getting on for three years now, aiming to return it back to more of a native woodland
  17. Noticed some recently laid hedge in Northumberland lately near Longhorsley, good to see, have you had any joy on the chainsaw training, I'm looking to do some training if I can, think they usually like to get a few trainees together to start a course
