Very rare Hilux Extended cab for sale. Very low mileage and only 2 previous owners. This is an ex Yorkshire Water vehicle and has been well looked after. Was purchased as an extra vehicle for my tree surgery company but unfortunately is hardly getting used. Perfect truck for a gardener/builder/tree surgeon. Truck can be viewed near Malton North Yorkshire on weekends or in Manchester during the week.

    Any work

Nobody is going to offer you work from this post when you’ve got no experience and no tickets mate. Ring up your local firms and offer to do a couple shifts for free. If you’re willing and hard working they might take you on for the odd shift so you can get an insight into the industry before you spend £££££ on all them tickets. good luck 🤞🏼
  3. So got some quotes back from RBG. £4.5k with Vat. Much more appetising than the £6880 plus VAT from B L Searle. Only issue now is finding somewhere to get the canopy removed down to chassis. Anyone know anywhere close to Manchester that can do it. It has auxiliary battery and power points plus beacons that controlled from inside the cab so not just a case of taking it off.
  4. No Fred Flinstone but you’d make her Bedrock. I will see myself out.

Its the opposite of Botty Cough
  6. You will love it mate. Just watch out for Drop Bears. 🐻
  7. My 2p on the topic would be to go travel the world mate. You’ve got skills and experience and most importantly age on your side. You can set up your own business when you’re 30. What’s the rush to do it now? As much as I applaud the drive and ambition which is lacking from most people your age nowadays, if I was in your shoes I’d be heading to Aus to earn double the money. Go broaden your skills and enjoy your 20s.
  8. OEX Ballistic 60L Cargo Bag | Blacks WWW.BLACKS.CO.UK I have an arbortec rope bag. Never sees the light of day anymore and it’s almost brand new. Have two of these now. A 60l and a 30l Get chucked around and abused. Can fit 2 climbing lines, lanyard, harness, slings, silkys and a helmet in the 60l. For £24.
  9. Ahh didn’t see it pal otherwise I wouldn’t have posted.
  10. More often than not I delete them and don’t think twice. But the language in this one made me think if it was from a number that I maybe hadn’t saved. Even though it’s not something anyone would text me. It still intrigued me enough to wonder who it was. So if anyone with dodgier mates than mine who may have replied 😂 let me know how much he wants for the 500i
  11. Received this text message from a random number otherday, claiming to be a mate. Figured he had taken my number from my website. Few of us have received the same text. So it’s either someone trying to flog stolen gear or a scam. Or both. Anyone else received one similar?
  12. you’ve been blessed pal. My back struggles holding up my braces after a days graft.
  13. @Treetom15 yeah mate. I was looking into the price of the tubs. £800-£2k. Silly money.
  14. Cheers @Mark Bolam and @Treetom15. Seems that price is the going rate nowadays. Mines also a Hilux Extra Cab so your spec is basically what I’m after. It’s not a cheap option but shes only done 70k miles so I don’t mind spending the money if I can 5+ years out of her.
  15. Hi all, recently bought a Toyota Hilux. Ex Yorkshire Water so was in decent condition with low miles for its age. Plan was to get it converted to a tipper body. I got a quote back this morning from B L Searle who were recommended by several people on a previous thread. Came back at £6880 plus Vat. A lot more than the £5k I was expecting from similar responses. I understand in the last few years prices have gone through the roof so maybe that’s just the going rate now. But at that price it wouldn’t be worth it. Be better off buying a second truck with bigger capacity like a Transit Tipper or Avecco and keeping the Hilux as it is. Has anybody had a truck or arb body fitted recently? What was the price? Also if anybody has any recommendations for tipper body manufacturers in the North West that would also be helpful. cheers
  16. Looking for the same. Just got a quote this morning from BL Searle for £6880 plus VAT. So I’d love to know the name of the company in Watford that did it for £2k 😂
  17. Cheers Eggs. It’s 99% domestic for us so that wouldn’t be an issue but one of the positives with the magnets is you can take them off so happy to go back to them again. Just thought there might be a go to company that people have used previously. also completely pissing in the wind in terms of how much a more semi permanent wrap would cost compared to the magnet style.
  18. Hi Guys, Currently got signage on the work van in the form of magnetic signs. Can’t remember where they were made. Changed email address so need to get new ones. Just wondered where people are going for their Van advertising and if printed magnets are the best option? is there somewhere online you can upload designs etc? Can only see Vista Print and the ones they make are too small. cheers
  19. I second this. Quite a high boot compared to the Airstreams I had before. Plenty of support though.
  20. Crates from a large Uk supermarket. Heavy duty. Stackable. The holes means air circulates so your gear gets air. they even do two sizes. We keep all carabiners and slings in the small ones, then a full climbing kit, harness, ropes lanyards etc in another for each of the team. Works great. You can see all your gear at a glance and don’t have to go rummaging through bags looking for things. every little helps.

  22. Reach out to a local Arb college. They will need companies to put their students on placements. Usually only one day a week but nothing stopping you getting the lad/lass in more days if they are keen.
  23. For what reasons would it need to be certified by an arborist association?
  24. A maul definitely has it’s uses for the heavier more seasoned stuff but get your hands on a Fiskars X21 axe. About £60 but worth every penny. The fibreglass shaft is virtually indestructible so the odd miss swing won’t hit you in the pocket. It’s incredibly lightweight and your body will thank you for it. I know a lot of the purists prefer a traditional ash handled axe, but the X21 is a game changer imo
  25. Drop us a private message mate. They are extending the age limit for working holiday to 35 from June so I’m looking at heading back over next year.
