Yeah I really want a van but I'm just starting out and would be wanting to upgrade it within a year for a newer Berlingo after I'm set up a bit better. Vans are just mental money right now which is a shame.

I'm doing my saw tickets soon and I'm going to getting into the forestry side of things rather than tree surgery etc. I am currently pricing a small van and genuinely can't find anything in my price bracket 3-4K that seems worth it as they're either ancient for an every day work horse or they've been to the moon and back a thousand times over. Is it essential or do some cutters use a regular every day car? Which is a hell of a lot cheaper. Cheers.

Actually booked it at H&W Training last night in Dumfries for the 22nd, it was £900 for the 6 days instead of 1050 at Treevolution, almost the same distance away (kind of).

Looking to do my CS30/31 soon and I am trying to find somewhere that isn't a 4-5 month wait. Tried H&W but they are end of August until they have a space unfortunately.

You'd be amazed at what has water in it. I recently removed thousands of litres of red diesel and the first 200 litres were a mix of red diesel and water. Petrol is lighter than water so if you had a hand cawed siphon and a thin bit of hose you can suck the water out of it if it's a problem.

I have some scaffold boards that I'd like to make into shelves but I was looking to buy a planer and a router (nothing too crazy expensive) as I've other things I need to buy. I've had a look at the Titan planer from Screwfix and the reviews look good for the price. I know it might be hard to find a planer that will do boards over 1 foot without spending a fair amount of money. Also will be looking into getting off cuts of hardwood slabs for making chopping boards in the future too. So the planer and router will come in handy for that also. Also if anyone in the Scottish Borders area has any off cuts of hardwood slabs please give me a shout. Looking for recommendations if possible. Nah not looking for rear seats at all. Some Berlingo's have 3 seats in the front which would be handy in emergencies but I need it personally as it'll only be used by me and for work.

2-3K to get me started I would prefer to pay

I'm guessing the 800L has a longer body on it, or is just to do with the weight load? By the looks of it I'm gonna start out in a Berlingo I think.

Yeah a lot of black stuff fell through when I took the metal sheet out. Although the back fire brick is moving. I guess this top plate is holding the fire brick pinned to the steel section? Or are they cemented in somehow onto the steel? I've read online but there seems to be a lot of different answers. Cheers @muttley9050

Yeah. I don't want anything fancy just something that's not gonna shit itself every other month and cost me more than it should.

That I'm yet to find out as I'm waiting to get my tickets. Just need to get everything organized but I'd imagine 60 miles a day on average with a little more if working further away. I know the costs of a pick up would be savage, I planned on working my way towards a pick up in the future and starting off with the likes of a Berlingo. Cheers for the reply.

Sorry I forgot to mention it has a coating of teak oil on it. Sanded from 60 grit to around about 400 I think.

I was considering a Jimny to be fair. I'd just tint the back windows completely blacked out (if that's legal I'm not sure). I'd be looking to spend about 3-5K on a vehicle to start off but I think a pick up at that money would maybe be a dog 😂. I'd hate to take a loan out on a 10-15K pick up when I'm just starting out.
