  1. I blew my Husky 572 up with the full wrap so got a 585 and it is a beast. I've a few videos I can send you. Got a full wrap coming for the 585, just in time for the 572 being rebuilt 😂
  2. Be a bit silly putting another log burner in wouldn't it? Would need to plum it through my downstairs bedroom which is sitting doing nothing anyway and up through my garage etc. I pay a minimum of 200 a month combined tbh but I work in forestry and get unlimited supply of firewood so it would make sense.
  3. Grand thanks Gareth. Anything to not pay the 200 gas bill I get monthly now!
  4. Aye to be fair I did think for 30kw that'd be a beast. I've a 5kw log burner or so in right now that'll heat my whole top floor, kitchen living room bathroom and hall way to 28/30 degrees which is absolutely roasting. Was only a quick google search. All I'm looking for is to heat downstairs as well upstairs evenly.
  5. Quick google search here and found one (maybe).
  6. Is there a way to only have the combi boiler just to solely heat the water in the tap/shower/bath? I'm not really clued up on how this all works.
  7. My log burner is upstairs so only heats half and the downstairs is freezing in the winter so yes. How much money are we talking? Yes it is a combi boiler. I have unlimited access to free wood as I am a cutter in forestry so would be grand.
  8. Currently have a log burner and I am looking to hook it up to my radiators and still use the central heating if possible for hot water in taps and showers. Any suggestions for doing something like this and suggestions for a new stove would be grand. i will be paying a fully qualified heating engineer to do this and not doing it myself as i dont want to turn my living room into a bomb

    585 or 592XP

I am a hand cutter in forestry. Currently have a 572 for felling. Taken on a bit of firewood work for decent cash and was looking to get a big saw for it, and to use for felling on bigger trees. Looking at the 92 or the 85 and cannot decide at all. Will be mainly used for logging up big hardwood oversize logs that aren't fit for a processor. I've heard good things about both saws which makes it a lot harder to choose...
  10. Random bits of this around my garage roof like this... is it something to worry about? Cheers.
  11. you said: If paying for an item on HP then ALL of the interest can be set against the business, but not the capital element of the repayment. Do you mean if I paid say 300 a month for a pick up, only the interest of that 300 would be tax deductable? For example if it was 10 percent interest, would only 30 a month be tax deductible? i will be getting an accountant to do it all for me and clearing it with mine after April is done. Just like to have some sort of knowledge beforehand haha
  12. Hey I've been self employed 7 months and have got a few questions I'd like to ask about tax. I've got an accountant to do it officially but wanting to know what I can get away with putting down on my tax deductible expenses. I've a little Kangoo van I bought earlier this year for 4000 which I want to put it down on my tax bill. Also have a MG ZS that I'd like to put down as well as the payments are 200 a month and I use that for getting about in as well as family. (not sure if you can fully put cars down) would be good to know if anyone else does this? if I can't put the cars payments down fully I was looking at getting a pick up next year as a family motor/work motor. And still use my van as well, or is there limits to this? Can I also put my full mobile phone bill down as it is 50 a month for my phone?
  13. Aye I do a lot of steep work. I'm buying a 562 here in the next few weeks for general medium tree felling and will have a big bar/full wrap set up on my 572 for the outside edge trees that need jacked over. So normally the stumps a little higher anyway! I've pmed you.
  14. It will be mainly for outsiders which normally are jacked anyways.
  15. I had it all ready to go the other day and didn't buy it and this was the price. I screenshotted it for some reason and now today it has changed to 140 total. Just don't want to pay 140 and then get further ripped off by custom charges when I pick it up.
  16. Just about to buy a full wrap handle for my 572. I've been looking all over eBay for them and can't seem to find one that isn't mental money on postage etc. If anyone has bought one recently, can you tell me how much customs tax you paid? Don't want to get stung. from the UK. Cheers
  17. Ah fair play. I was also looking at the SIP 5 ton one for 300 quid delivered. Don't really want to spend a lot of money on one right now as gonna have to buy other stuff.
  18. Has anyone used the Titan Splitter 4 Ton? It's from Screwfix at 200 pound. I'm looking for a splitter for the garage.
  19. Aye exactly. I was mainly just curious. Tbh I'll split it up when I'm feeling it and burn it all next year around.
  20. Here's a log I have split and it's been in the house for a week.
  21. Burnt a bit of this in my log burner, has to sit inside a good while to dry out now as it's like a sponge. Wondering what it even is. Absolute pain in the arse to split as well with a maul.
  22. I did actually think of a getting one of these diesel heaters for heating the garage through the winter and drying out gear etc. Not sure how well it'd dry out logs as well if they're in there at the same time. To be exact this is the same kind of vents I have to the right of the door and at the rear of the garage.
  23. It has tiny little 6x2 inch openings for venting air in and out the garage but I'm guessing this will never be enough 😂 I'm in it every day and night to be fair, just don't fancy taking up all that space in the garage for logs that aren't going to burn well enough.
  24. In my front garden there's not much space so I was thinking of devoting half my garage to storing it. Obviously it will be covered with little air flow. Will this still dry out OK within a summer or so?
  25. I've an endless supply of sitka and some larch and I've heard both Sitka being one of the longest to season and read up online and others say it is one of the quickest to season I.E 6 months or so. Looking for info on who is right as I'd like to heat my house on Sitka with it being free.
