  1. they are. the casings for the defenders are well attached, it's the arms falling out of the casings that's the problem, if that makes sense? picture may help...
  2. It's a good stance to have! if more people understood the country like many (by no means all) shooters do, we'd be in a much less ignorant state than we are now! Thanks for the welcome.
  3. my new helmet came today. After looking around a fair amount, I went for the Husky Forest Technical. fits beautifully, great visor and is a fair bit lighter than the normal work ones. Downside? The ear defenders won't stay clipped on. it came ready connected (or so I thought) but the first time I came to put the helmet on, I clicked the defender out and it dropped off in my hand. Every time it happens, and I'm sure they're seated correctly. Anyone else had this? bad choice by me for helmet? I read a fair few reviews and no one mentioned this...
  4. I wear these. Work got them for me and they're absolutely fine. no nonsense chainsaw trousers; they do exactly what you need them to. comfy with plenty of manoeuvrability when cutting. They get hot, but then they're chainsaw trousers, so you'd expect them to! Decent number of pockets without going overboard and you can attach braces to them, should you feel the need. If I was cutting day in, day out, I would probably get something with a bit more fit to them as they are a bit shapeless, especially round the knees, but other than that, they're not too bad at all, especially for the price. Worth having a look at
  5. I have the baby of the range, the 900b. It's got a 700g head (900g overall) and is 34cm long and I love it. coming ready-to-use sharp is a nice touch. It's got some good weight to it, but isn't so long that it feels uncomfortable if you have it attached to you when not in use. the one thing i'm not sold on is the grip. it feels a bit slippery if using it one handed (which with the 900, you will be!). other than that it's a great piece of kit.
  6. Evening folks, I work for a wildlife conservation charity and have recently got my felling qualie, so am now just trying to cram as much practice in as I can (easily done - our reserve is mostly woodland and we've had a fair bit of storm damage to contend with!). A chap on a shooting forum I'm a member of suggested having a mooch round here, so here I am. I have a couple of queries immediately (more on that story...elsewhere), but thought I'd say hello here first. cheerio, Chris
