  1. If budget wasn’t a issue I’d go from x300 up, the way Deere do stuff is simple and long lasting and the parts backup is second to none, warranty is good and worth the paper it’s written on. Ultimately depends on what it’s going to be used for ie big garden or commercially but that’s my 2 cents.
  2. I’d steer clear, budget depending John Deere.

Ahh fair enough! To be honest as my go to saw she's had 4 new needle bearings, as many spurs and a clutch cover in that department in 4 years so it is somewhere to keep an eye on, bang for buck and quality wise still a bonny a beauty and joy forever in my opinion (and the right shade of orange )

  6. Freelance climber required for around 4/5 days, melton mowbray area, Leicestershire, good rates available for the right people. Work to commence within the next fortnight, any questions feel free to ask, cheers, Will
  7. I've had my 2 apart a couple of times and it's surprisingly easy to get the case wrong without realising and Knip something, Also may be worth letting it run on 'start' for 90 seconds followed by a good rev up, should make it retune itself if it's not a physical problem.
  8. I'd say so to make the most use of a flail, with anything less once your above 1.5ft and have a bit of dew on it your going to be chugging along in crawler gear, I suppose you could say it's neater than strimming/herbicide application but it's only just slightly more profitable. Shine through if you have multiple years of maintenance but you have to keep your eye on things.
  9. Hi steve would depend on wether or not your after 4wd or not, and how mechanically minded you are. More often than not the cheapest easiest way of getting 40/50hp out of a small ish tractor is to go for a old or rebuild massey david brown new holland ect. but more often than not only 2wd models.
  10. Hi steve I recently sold a 25hp yanmar witch was used to run a 1 metre flail, Its just about enough but going forward Il be looking to find something around the 40/50hp mark, It was a handy little 4wd machine but it just didn't compete with much in the end and went through 2 head gaskets in the process. As for the flail look up a company called Del Morino there is a few uk dealers and parts can be ordered online
  11. depending on height and access I've had luck using a backpack orchard mister, you have to muck around a bit with water to begin with to work out your dose a bit but on a still day you can cover 6/7 metres to either side of you. Biggest trick is having someone to fill you up as you go.
