  1. Hi, What's the smallest lightest petrol chainsaw out there. I've seen a couple of very small saw but all older pre 95 models without the safety features of modern saws. So what's available on todays market. I need small and light as i will be hiking in a few miles and out carrying wood.
  2. Will do.
  3. Sometimes it can appear similar to the cankers Roys, But once you get your eye in it's kinda unmistakable..really bright orange under that black outer..I've never found any myself around here, but i do know others who have. Generally in colder higher up environments. Up north of Scotland is a good place. I've even seen it grow on a tree in Holland?. Usually on old gnarly Silver birch but can also be found on alder if i remember correctly. Boreal forest are it's favourite haunt.
  4. Brewed...Doesn't take much at all for a wee cuppa like this. probably about half the contents of a teabags worth at most. Just leave it to enfuse for 20 mins or so then reheat, add honey if you like and there you have it. You can also nibble on it if you like, wont do you any harm.
  5. Yeah, Interesting stuff. The Sami tribes and various other boreal forest tribes have used it to keep fit and healthy for thousands of years. Medical studies have shown it helps slow down tumor growth and good for keeping the weight off. No way does big pharma want anyone to know that this mushroom stuff that grows on trees has potential. Well, not until they have a monopoly on silver birch trees around the globe. You have to wonder what else they suppress to maximise their profits. Made the old man a brew last night. Tastes bloody lovely. added a wee spot of honey.
  6. Just a big shout out to our member Angus for throwing a lump of chaga my way. This is much appreciated my friend. When everything else aint working i suppose we gotta try an alternative. Thank you..As i said, very much appreciated. Stevie...
  7. And as you say..£15 is nothing for the knowledge gained already. Thanks to everyone.
  8. Cheers Man. I do worry about the guy i just sold it to. He's never used a chainsaw but has a Fir tree to fell for a woman, so he'll make his money back on the chainsaw...Best of luck my friend, best of luck.
  9. Sold...Lost £15 on the deal. Better to lose money than a limb. Cheers guys for showing me the error of my ways. Now to find something more sensible.
  10. Hi guys. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on parts replacements. I'm going to sell this chainsaw on but before i do i think it's best i replace the bar and chain. Not looking to splash out mega bucks just a safe replacement and for my own peace of mind. I couldn't live with myself if i sold this on only for the next guy to come to some harm. The chain on the saw at the moment has too much side movement in the bar for my liking. I'm not even sure if the chain and bar are compatable. Unfortunately i dont know how to scrunch the numbers. So if i left you guys some detials..ie, numbers and names could someone take the time to advise me firstly on a new bar and chain and then maybe some details on the old bar and chain...I'll post below a Bar i think would do if indeed i have run the numbers correctly..??? Here's the numbers on the old bar. Oregon Made in Canada 17655 1858B1649HS Stamped at the bar tip (M A) Hard Nose 18" Bar Here's the Chain.... CM 25 (68 Drive links) One of our members already stated it's a Chipmaster but i got confused when reading a ID table on Oregon chains. (couldn't find a Chipmaster chart).. Number 25 on the Oregon chain chart says it's a 1/4" pitch where as this old CM chain is a 3/8 pitch or should be. I measured the pitch and it came in at 19mm then i divided x2 to give me 9.5 mm = 3/8...I think? The Sprocket is 8 tooth 3/8" on the chainsaw itself. Defo. Also would this Bar i found fit. 18" 40cm Oregon Chainsaw Guide Bar For Oleo Mac 3/8" .058" Tracked Post | eBay Please bear in mind i'll be replacing the chain as well so any help on chain replacement would also be appreciated. Thanks again. Stevie.......

  12. Well this thread certainly took a turn..
  13. I once found a drunk old man laying in the snow, I carried him home and laid him on the couch. The following week i found him again laying at the same spot. I carried him home only for a enraged man to tell me to gtf as this old ####er doesn't live here.

  20. Hi, I would like to buy chaga from anyone who has some. £20 a kg. Chaga needs to be healthy,. Old dead stuff is no good. cheers.
  21. I would pay £20 a kilo if you can gather that much and send it to me...needs to be fresh...live stuff.
  22. Talking about Fungi do any of you guys ever come across Chaga..? Mostly found in very cold habitats and grow predominantly on birches.
  23. The old girl and her supervisor are treating it like it is some sort of game and the saw a toy. That tree could have ended her. Easily and the guy who let her loose with it should be ashamed. Mental.
