Long shot but here goes. Anyone in the Wishaw Motherwell or surrounding area got a done, finished, Kaput 3/8 .50 gauge chain with at least 64 Drive links and a .325 .50 gauge with at least 70 Drive links. The reason I ask is. I have a Zenoah Komatsu G560 avs, I have just added a 16" GB Bar that is nearly 3/4" longer than an Oregon 16" bar and the spec size chains for the saw simply won't fit. Trouble is I don't know what length of chain I'll need. The easiest way for me to find out is if a get a hold of an old chain. split it and match it up. I believe I would be close at 67-68 drive links for the .325 chain but I don't know how many drive links I would need on the 3/8 chain. could be 61-62 or whatever. I'm really only guessing here. The condition of the chains won't matter, Rusted, in three pieces, covered in human flesh whatever, just as long as I can use them to measure up the correct number of drive links i'll need. I can come and collect them if the distance is not too far as I would probably be travelling by public transport. or if you're so kind as to drop them in hang around and stick a brew on and chat while I measure up then you can have the chains back. Cant see the process taking me 30 minutes. I know I'm, a pain in the arse on here with my questions and requests at times but that's the price you all have to pay when I buy a saw/saws that appears to have been wiped from existence for some reason. ? Not every saw has a specific chain to match when you mix and match Bars with older Saws. That I'm learning. Anyway, Thanks for listening to me waffle. Ps, If someone has at least the 3/8 .50 gauge and would post it to me i'll pay for the postage.

Think I have it sussed. 8 Drive links to spare on the original 18" bar with 72 DL's, When I lay the new 16"GB bar over the top I'm counting 12 Drive links spare. So from that, I have concluded I need a 68 drive link .325 chain instead of the 66 Drive links per Zenoah-Oregon specs.

I am running a Komatsu Zenoah G560 avs..rare as hen's teeth. I have just added a 16" .50 gauge GB bar that comes in at 18 and 3/4" in total and has a fatter belly and longer by 3/4" than the Oregon 16". The recommended 66DL in 325 or 60DL in 3/8 will be too short a chain, by how many links I don't know. I'll need to get a hold of a couple of lengths of .50 gauge and see where we are at. I'm guessing around 68DL in .325 and 62 in 3.8... 'Guessing, certainly not ordering one until I find out for sure. Hence the reason i'm asking how far back near the sprocket is too far back.

Start with standing upright and falling on your face/back. Next, do the same thing from the kerb. Increase this process in 6" increments. Once you break some ribs, a nose, Skull, stop what you are doing and take a measurement. That's the maximum height god intended for you to climb. Do not go any higher without wings. ?

Hi, Never really thought about it until I got this new bar. How far back or how close to the sprocket should the bar mount tail end be?. Is there a set standard distance.? piccies attached below. I understand if I go too far back the angle of the chain from sprocket to bar increases top and bottom and would probably cause a slip or eventually wear out the bar end, chain or both... and i would probably lose some drive as well with the DL's not seating in the sprocket correctly. So how far is 'too, far.? Cheers.

I'm in Wishaw North Lanarkshire. Shavey and Guest Hobo, I found a GB .50 gauge hard top bar for £20 with the correct D176 mount. Now I have another problem. The number of Chainlinks has changed from standard 66 on an Oregon bar to I don't bloody know on a GB Bar. The 16" GB bar measures up at just over 18.5" in total whereas the 16" Oregon bar comes in at bang on 18" in total. So I'm looking at possibly a 69 link chain in.325 and god knows what DL in 3/8. I may have to get one made up. I'll phone around. I might go down the road of a Stihl chain as they seem to have more options with regards to the number of chain links. Never rains but it pours. ?

D176 in the mount code in Oregan pro lite 21 BPX. I'm pretty sure that's the Bar that i need. Is there such a thing as a chart where I could look up other bar manufacturers for alternatives.

Had a look through, They dont have the correct pitch or gauge for the 560, I would need to change the sprocket and chain. That's another 24 search. I would rather keep the Oregon bar and try and source one here, rather than import from France. Carlton and Ozaki bars any good.?

Probably only boils down to the positioning of the chain tensioner holes. ok, and maybe the tail length, ok and maybe the bar stud slot.. Ps, Try googling anything on this saw. It's as if it's been wiped from existence. Every site I go to that has information on Zenoah Komatsu saws the G560avs is missing from the list. I spoke to another owner in NZ, he's the same. can't find much info whatsoever. I would like to know the reason why the info is not out there on them, Plenty info on all their saw models before and after the G560AVS.

Looks like the Oregon Pro-Lite BPX21 is the Bar I need. Decent enough Bar.? Can't find anything on the G560 but i'm sure the G621avs is based on the G560avs so gonna have to go with that. Other than the oiler hole it looks similar.

Hi, Been looking for a 18" Oregon Bar as above. Might even go down to a 16" same pitch and gauge obviously. I wont need to change the sprocket will I.? Anyone got one for sale or better still, point me in the right direction where I can buy one. been looking online and that size seems to either be sold out or a rarity. It's for a Zenoah Komatsu G560 1990, The Bar on it is probably the 1990 original Oregon. Dont want to go nuts out and splash a lot of £££ on the bar as i won't be using it a lot. just for a couple of jobs a year. It's a good (rare) saw in fantastic condition for year and deserves to be kept in good shape.
