I might look at aspen never used before so will look into how much it costs etc it's pleasing to see most like the 395 thanks. As for the 039 it's a 1997 model I brought off eBay 3 years ago for just over £100 it's only on 2nd bar and has never put a foot wrong for me, the oiler is a it stingy but not the end of the world. In fact I am very attached to this saw and would never sell it. Well for now ha ha

    New 395xp

I recently asked on here about a big chainsaw for running 24" bars and decided to go for stihl 460 or stihl 064 both looked good but after some time thinking I didn't want to spend too much on a saw that was used and end up splashing out on repairs or Risthat anyway. So decided to apply for finance and get a 395xp off RF Jones with the bosses permission of coarse. I know some will say should have got a 661 but don't fancy the drive to pick it up. I hate London to many people in a rush for me I don't play well with other I'm told Anyway was after some advice on best fuel to oil ratio to use? And best 2storke to use? I use 33/1 in my 039 and seems fine. Any hep would be great.

I got a husqvarna k760 with new blade and never used water bottle from a hire company that was shutting down for £105 a bit of a bargain, hire company's normally have a fee for returning gear dirty have found buying this way can be vey cheap, got a service kit with genuine husky parts happy days saw good to go. Keep clean and service regularly

  8. I agree the 039 is a good saw I paid £112.50 2 years ago and must have cut up 40 cord easy. I just need something now for BIG logs I don't do it for a living just for firewood and have done the odd favour tree for people I know. Would love to do tree work on the weeken but that's another story any advice where to buy 2nd hand saws? Like I said wary of eBay too many people trying to sell crap.
  9. Got an 039 20" bar don't think it would be much cop with a bigger bar and anti vibe is crap, 064 and ms460 look ok
  10. How much are they worth? Have been looking on eBay but I am a little unsure
  11. I am new to this site but like what I have been reading, I am looking for a new saw to pull a minimum 25" bar, I am looking at a used saw but just don't know where to go on a limited budget? I had a 281xp but had to sell unfortunately, would prefer stihl as feel better made. Any help, advice would be awesome thanks.
