I have ordered the 36" model. Unless it is made of tinfoil, I can't see there being too much to go wrong. I know you get what you pay for etc etc, but I have always thought that the alaskans seem a little over priced for a few bits of metal and some brackets, just my humble

On their web-site, it says that they have set up their own aluminium factory in China to be able to guarantee quality, so they may not be too bad for occasional usage.
Might order one to see what they are like, can always send it back.

Anyone bought one of these Alaskan MILL Chainsaw Milling Attachment 3 Sizes Available Planking Lumber | eBay
Made by a company that specialises in aluminium and looks to be an exact copy of the alskans'.

Only put half a tank through it and it feels really well built and free of vibes'. Looking forward to running it in

What's the bar size range for these saws, I'm guessing 16" to 24"?
-
I bought some for my little 021. They look decent enough, but I found it made the saw jumpy and vibey as if the rakers had been taken down. I did try to file a different profile on them without much luck. Went in the bin I'm afraid. The larger chains may be better though, can't comment on those.

Yes, thanks for the link Max, perfect timing for me and saved me £70

Same here, can't stretch to a pair though. Looking forward to it turning up.

Me too, hope they have more than one:laugh1:

Did you order one of these saws Maxnaggle, quite tempted to get one myself at that price.
@Shavey, does the dolmar come close to that price?

RSPB findings here Effect on Songbirds
We have lots of Magpies on our land, and no shortage of songbirds nesting successfully.
Funny how nature can sort itself out, without the continual interference of man and his desire to kill everything he doesn't like the look of. Grandpappy shot 'em, his grandpappy shot 'em etc etc Time to move on.

Lived in the country all my life, worked on farms since 8yrs old, went to agri college and have worked outside in the countryside ever since.

Are you training to be an arb truck

Now that's proper education, small animals come from eggs

A nest site is a nest site, regardless of the species. When we did our unit 5 training, we were told that a bird sitting in a tree with a twig in its' mouth, classes that tree as an active nest site.
I can never work out the general hatred for corvids We wipe out so many small birds with our hedge removal, house building, farming practices etc etc, but somehow by persecuting corvids we make it all better.
It can "inconvenience" the working day, but working with and around nature is all part of this work and just needs working around.

Mine would get suspicious that I had made her a cup of tea, and make me drink it.

It's an unclassified road linking an A and B road. Getting a crew and phoning the police may be the way to go.
-
Any safety switches on engine covers etc, don't know the machine set up though.

Hope you have asked if you can go out to play Jon?
-
Yeah right, you are all brave boys on here, but I bet it's all "yes dear, of course dear, whatever you say dear" in reality. Right, I'm just off to do the dishes

Somerset. Have looked on their site, but can't find any details. Whilst waiting to contact them and check it out it could come down any time and cause a fatal.
