Will see what the outcome of the 560 is and go from there:thumbup1: A ported and tuned 560, that will be a total nutter
-
They are the ones I was looking at. They are £609 delivered from Germany on ebay at the moment. The ones in your link are the same saw but in a different colour and closer to £900 from a UK seller.

I found you need to blip the throttle to let the saw clear its throat before cutting all the time, don't think Stihls auto tune is as precise as huskys'. Not that much cheaper than a 550 and hardly any weight difference and noticeably less grunt. I know it's a 5cc less saw, but in my mind it's worth spending that little extra.

Have you ported any 550xps' and will the auto tune adjust enough for it? What sort of money are we talking if so
-
There is a lot between them. The 550 is a different animal to the 241. Almost the same weight as each other, but the power difference is huge. I liked the 241 for small logging work though.

Fuel metering lever could be stuck open a little if crud is stuck behind the diaphragm causing flooding. Spark plug worked loose?

Anyone use one of those petrol engined circular saw benches that are listed on ebay? Different colours, but they all look the same. 13hp and 700mm blade. Have a use for one, so any user opinions would be good:thumbup1:

I run an 18" 3/8th on my 550xp, logs up fine and saves a bit of bending when trimming out. Being old and tall, I need all the help I can get:001_smile:

Hi all, new on here. Been lurking for awhile trying to source some info on firewood processors. Been working in utility arb in Devon and Somerset for the past 5 years.
Whats the weather like near you?

High winds around Exmoor today. Bit of rain, quick flurry of snow and a few bits of hail. Sweating in front of the woodburner, so who cares:biggrin:
