  1. Take it the company you sub for just stand back and let you do your thing then step in once your down to do the tidy up.

    Brilliant colour in that timber.

G'day Gray git, the Euc job in the rain by the road was a get it down now job and do not mess about while it was still before the winds came sweeping back uo the valley.

the pine job the company was happy to come in afterwards and chip at it in their own time.

either way I didn't have to clean it up so win here for this little black duck.

the Euc timber was river red gum Eucalyptus camaldulensis is valued as furniture making and turning timber plus gall sections for bowls etc.

and I love the colour of it myself.

  2. Yeah looked a nice tree too get at. Did you find it was good whilst it lasted on there? Looks like a pretty smart idea

the grip tape did work really well on a smooth limbed euc like the lemon scented and if it was a longer lasting effect I would probably do it again given how many eucs are smooth limbed there is an advantage to the idea.

  3. I've been a bit busy to catch up with your vids Stihlmadd, good stuff, as usual (18 minutes though!?):001_smile:

listening to you on the vid reminded me of Richard Wright the goalie.

Thankyou Mick, if you reason it out it is only 6 mins for each of the three days and Rich Rule did say it was okay to do a longer vid so thats my excuse :001_tt2:

but yeah I did figure thats pushing my luck on length and music choices sheesh it aint easy for a long vid .

Good that you are busy it is just coming on spring here finally some decent working weather.:big grin:

    cheers Ben.

  4. Great video thanks for taking the time to put it up. Must have looked daunting on the first day!

G'day iana, the bossman sent me round to quote the job for him at the start (the just go and inspect it gag then tell me what it is worth style) so I knew from the get go what I was in for and have done bigger trees that this one but the knowledge that the big timber was all crane work eased the pressure on this particular job IMO.

Not to say when I first laid eyes on it that I did not do the "Whoa, **** me thats a big'in" stare up cause that def happened.

at the end of the day it is still one piece at a time

    cheers Ben.

  5. Nicely put together videos nice work. Is that grip tape on the bottom of your spikes?

thankyou Matt528, twas a good one that particular takedown, plenty of space and opportunities to rig big from the get go.:001_cool:

yes grip tape, I was working with a mate the week before and he had cut some to size since we both had talked about the idea for ages I tried it out but the tape starts to wear down pretty quickly but nothing ventured!

    cheers Ben.

  6. Great video Ben, gotta be one of your best, love how excitable you are when lowering the limbs down obviously really passionate about the job. Great work and great filming.

thankyou Scott , yeah I really do get a big kick out of large scale rigging out.

not to say I do not enjoy pure bombing down and there was that one piece that really stretched me deep in the guts but on the whole I have a hoot.

appreciate the time taken to watch the whole bloody thing and leave me a positive comment.

    cheers Ben. :thumbup1:

  7. Bring it on. Looking forward to it.

    okay can do will do.

three day euc removal , spent two days stripping out and a third day with the crane.

watch in 1080 Hd for full effect

still up for music suggestions for future vids.

make your self comfy it is a looong one...

    cheers Ben.

  8. Yup tight indeedy!

Great work mate and just enough of the effect for me.

I quite liked the music also ;)

    Keep em

    Coming.

thank you Rich, working on a monster three day removal right now.

just starting the edit and working out the tunes, this could be another long vid. :001_huh:

    cheers Ben.

  9. That was tiger tight dropzone!

Cool work but had to turn 1st tune off as not my style.

Love the comment about free roof sweeping service, thought the TV Arial was going to cop it at 1 point like 😜

thank you very much Gray git, it all good about the tunes, different horses and courses when you get down to individual taste, having said that I am receptive to suggestion/requests if they are not too out of field.

currently working on a side project for RCO ( shh..)

the roof got a thougher sweeping and I near menaced with intent the antenna and air con box

    appreciate the kinds words,

    Ben.

  10. two day euc removal of a sa blue gum in a tight landing zone.

watch in HD and get comfy for this is a long one,

you asked for more climbing and sound bites, tying techniques and views with less effects then folks you almost got that, almost

  11. high energy vid there, liked all the synthesizer messing in the track too

what is going on at 1.05 - with the climbing ropes? Is it from two distant anchors to aid balance?

thank you tree-fancier123, the two climbing line were for balance way out at the ends and for quicker movement up and down between the main leaders. easier some times to have two main anchors than tracking up and down the second.

  12. :thumbup1: Bravo :thumbup1: Can you sign my 200t please sir ? :001_tt2:haha

Solid work as always bro , really enjoyed that one.

Thankyou Jesse as always appreciate the props. :thumbup1:

I am going to be in Denver Colorado for the NATTC next month if you want that saw signed more than happy to do it. sept 19/20 at Longmont.

    can you dig it? :laugh1:

  13. I recently fitted out my buckingham titanium gaffs with the powerscender kit from Mike powers and am very happy with it.

the kiwis didn't have a set for my older spike set up and with the additional knee ascender clip in plate on the other gaff combined with a new haas two it has been great.

well worth giving it a gander and they are coming on to the market with treestuff real soon. ( plug plug  )

  14. Nice video, that tree looked a choad.

I hope they are not clearing it up by hand?

cheers and yes it was being cleared by hand with that little 9 inch chipper,

trunks stayed in lengths for the sawmill to collect.

and no I did not participate in the clean up I am only there to make the mess :thumbup1:

    cheers Ben.

  15. nice vid mate. what are the gloves you're wearing?

thank you sir, the gloves are maxi-tek anti vibe from PiP industries they do a full finger version as well.

kinda like a weight lifters glove with wrist support and gel inserts for the anti vibe issue. helps when you are touting takedown saws all day every day.

    cheers Ben.
