One for the hive mind ive been given an old power pruner to try and get going again its got a teikei carb with 8n1 90 stamped on it that has the wrong intake configuration a bit of research turns up that it should have a zama c1u k16 carb thats been discontinued. Can anyone advise of a suitable aftermarket carb or is it just pot luck.

Hard standing tip site for logs and clean chip. Room for trailers to be parked while tipping Log drop and chip drop are in Seperate areas we are a retired couple and not able to separate the logs from the chip after its been tipped. Please call ahead so we can open the gate. Happy to trade eggs/honey or possibly cakes for logs cut to size ready for splitting 😁 but we can process them if thats not possible. Afternoon all i had a new body made by a local welder turns out the zink tek plate he used ( chough chough) is just normal mild steel and is rusting like hell anyone know of a way to treat the steel to stop it or do i just grind it and red oxide it? Its got so bad the chip on the bottom just sticks like the proverbial to a blanket. Many thanks.

Hi all im hoping someone can help clear my confusion. Im a qualified arbourist ive been in the industry for 12 years ive got 90% of my tickets just missing a couple of the more esoteric courses. My employer has offered to fund further education so i was looking to do a diploma in arb and forestry is there anyone that does these courses distance learning? all the courses i can find are full time for school leavers. Does such a thing exist anymore?

Last time i split a case i used a heat gun and hammer worked well enough but if you find one at a sensible price could you tag a link always like to have interesting lumps of metal in the shed

Hi all thanks for all the replies im working on the theory that the carbs are goosed changed all of the common parts over to no avail so ordered a cheap Chinese carb to test with if that works il be chopping out the computer management and see how it goes

Evening all I've been handed 3 261 and a 261c from work the 261c is the newest so thats the one im working on atm. When fired it starts and runs like a bag of nails sounds like its 4 stroking and it will not rev when i press the throttle it just bogs but keeps running crap. out of interest i swapped the pot, piston, carb and ignition module of one of the 261 to see what it would do. Exactly the same problem. Any ideas the saws were free so not overly fussed if its a dead duck but interested to see if i can get any of them going.
