Slang!

I've only been here a day and I've learned many new words. I would like to know more, I hate when I have my foot in mouth. Pom? Cizzer? Plant-I know this one now. It's not about plants. French letter-hahahaha, this one makes no sense at all. Scrumpy? I don't know, but I think I like it. I'll add more as I notice them. I know I could Google, but where's the fun in that?
3. I have no idea what a Dutch rudder is either. I think I need to start a thread about slang so I know these things. Off I go to the general section.
4. Wait, you don't know what a Dutch letter is? Blasphemy! It is a flaky pastry, shaped into a letter and filled with almond paste.
5. My daughter and I were walking down the street as I put it in my mouth. It took all my strength to swallow, and that didn't even happen as fast as I had hoped. That jar went into the nearest trash can. With force.
6. You guys pay for beer? Always been free for me. I don't actually drink the stuff but we have skunky beer nights around here, I think you can get a glass for about a dollar. It probably tastes something like dirty dishwater.
7. I love reading what people from around the world eat, so interesting. I have heard that Americans aren't known for being adventurous eaters, but I like to think I am. Breakfast is generally an Isagenix shake. Also drink 2 K-cups of a strong type, such as Starbuck's Sumatra with plenty of milk. Pistachios or almonds for snacks. Green tea with honey from my bees. Lunch is something fast between dogs (I'm a groomer). Maybe a slice of toast with peanut butter and sliced bananas. Venison jerky as a snack (we shot, butchered, and processed ourselves). Dinner is a home cooked meal if I don't have too much work or school. Meat loaf, seared meat such as steak, a pork loin roast or other main dish. Then veggies. My son can't eat wheat so our meals are centered around a meat and a vegetable.
8. Hey now, what's wrong with garlic bread? I found Marmite at a specialty shop a couple weeks ago, and tasted a spoon of it. OMG. Might have been the worst thing I have ever tasted. How do you guys turn your noses up at cold pasta or garlic bread but eat Marmite????
9. LOL, what is a Johnny? I've heard of Dutch letters (yummy) but never French letters. I think I have a lot to learn from you guys.
10. Is the climate right for the trees to produce?
11. Yeah, funny how that works. You call boots rubbers don't you? Or is it an eraser?
12.
I love your boat, and that you can use a chainsaw. I have a Silky Fox. That's about as dangerous as I can be to a tree.

13. Amazing pictures! Never heard of shadowlithing before today.
14. I wonder how I might get that confused? Thank you for clarifying.
15. 1st pic Oak, right? 2nd pic ??? 3rd pic Ginkgo?
16. Wow, I've purchased many trees from Ebay and have never had a problem with sellers or scams. Unfortunately, the deer in the area find them very tasty.
17. I've owned my business for over 16 years. Although it isn't a tree service, all small business have similarities. You can make a lot of money if you are willing to work hard. If I have work scheduled, I can't call in sick. Hurt? Still work. Sick kid? Stop the job, get the kid, go back to work. Benefits? Only if I allocate. Which I am terrible at. Insurance? Expensive but necessary. There are many wonderful things about being your own boss, but don't forget to look at all aspects.
18. I'm no arborist, just an American that likes fruit trees. I thought the first pics with the fungus were pretty. If the tree had been in a safe location, could it have been left standing complete with the fungus?
19. I am from the United States. I grow many kinds of fruit and nut trees, and have so much to learn. My favorite peach tree caught canker this spring so we cut it down. Then I saw that several more of the stone fruit trees in my yard have it. I don't want to cut them all down, not really sure what to do at this point. Anyway, hello from the Midwest.
20. The beans look like those on the Locust trees in the US. The leaves look like a Mimosa though.
21. Who doesn't eat cold pasta?
