  1. I don't think they can, they have to follow their companies rules and regs. I think the paypal idea is to speed up payment for smaller invoices (I'll believe it when I see it though). Good point about the cheques, we are gradually reducing those payments when we get a new customer on board, so that will hopefully sort itself. BACS is my preferred method by a long shot.
  2. slightly off topic, a company who we are regularly working for are asking to pay via paypal (they will cover the additional fees). But, I'm not sure I want to add something else to my list of things to juggle. I think our current list of payment methods (cash, card, cheque) is sufficient. Any thoughts? The work is a big part of our income so I don't want to rock the boat too much but paypal seems like more pain than its worth.

    Best Hedge?

Personally i have found that black thorn is more hassel than its worth. Hawthorn with the odd hazel mixed has worked well though
  4. Has anyone managed to replace the bed of an Ifor to factory spec? Any tips appreciated, I don't want to bodge this.
  5. Thanks for the pointers. Warning signs seem like dead money when people just stroll past them, but like you said... Better than getting taken to court or the insurance company leaving you on your own when there is a claim
  6. Any recommendations on where do buy warning signs please? tree cutting, grass cutting etc... need to update ours and I begrudge paying £60+ for a sign that the public don't acknowledge anyway. Thanks
  7. I have them for the van because of working for other people regularly as well as doing my own work. I'd feel like I'm taking the pee if I rocked up on a friends job with my advertising on the vehicle.
  8. Do any of them deliver what they promise anyway?
  9. We've got a Ferris flail and have had a few issues with electrics on it. Expensive to get hold of the parts and replacement unit was faulty as well. Great when it's working though!

    Treating Ivy

Going to discuss with the customer and see how it goes. Not sure why the suppliers felt it wouldn't work, when clearly there are ways of getting the job done. I'll update with the results Off to find my marigolds

    Treating Ivy

I've been asked by a customer to treat Ivy which is growing in the mortar of a very old brick and flint wall. Stems from the ground have been cut but this has not fixed the problem. The ivy is just growing from the wall now. We have been advised by our suppliers that SBK and glyphosate would be ineffective whilst the sap is flowing. Has anybody got any advice on how to tackle the problem please? The wall itself is fairly unstable so manually doing this is out of the question. I've looked on several websites but the information is a bit hit and miss. Any help from the experts please? Thankyou
  14. Cheapest we found was £440ish plus delivery and VAT
  15. Bit of a long shot but police are looking for the owners of some equipment that has been recovered: Appeal after power tools recovered
