  4. It’s a good example of the Nanny State!
  5. I see David Lammy has pledged £70 million of our money to Singapore (the fourth richest country in the world per capita) to improve their transport system. Just another example of Labour spraying money around with things like carbon capture and supporting farmers in other countries whilst cutting the welfare in this country.
  6. I’d be surprised if either of the pilots would have been aware of the actual position of the switches. They would have only known about whether or not the fuel had been switched off by the visual display in front of them. And what they would have seen is the position of the HP Cocks (sic) not necessarily the position of the manual “switches”. It’s just a small point but these are the sort of things the investigators will be looking at. Things like fire warning actions and certain engine spool fractures can directly close the HP Cocks which brings into the realm of possibility an electronic malfunction rather than a mechanical action that closed the HP Cocks. Just saying!
  7. Both fuel switches were selected back on. I guess there wasn’t enough time. But there are other things that can cut the fuel off irrespective of the position of the switches. I hope they can get to the bottom of it.
  8. Ah, just look at those children babies and women!
  9. I heard they will be getting private care, so as not to put a strain on the NHS!

  13. Thank you, all inputs most welcome, looks like I will have a lot of ash in the fire box then!
  14. Please can anyone help with identifying this wood? I got it from a tree surgeon roadside. They said it was sycamore but I’ve go no real idea. I do know it was really heavy lifting it into the van!
  15. Do You Have To Pay VAT On Solar Panels? | The Eco Experts WWW.THEECOEXPERTS.CO.UK The UK government has cut VAT to 0% for solar panels, among other energy-saving materials. The cut will be in place until April 2027. Not much vat to pay on home installed solar panels.
