  1. What gets me me they sell these bars and state what saws they fit I got quoted for a 24" bar yesterday by a husqvarna dealer and didn't advise against it. Surely these places should be advising against it. Suprised they didn't try selling me a new saw. I have always taken advice from you guys on here and is much appreciated. I'm stuck now with what to do. I got a lot of wood to cut up on the farm but can't afford a new saw and bar at the same time log sales slow at moment.

  3. I've never had any trouble with the old 61 saws. My old man swore by his and he used that as a main saw for years felling back in the day with a variety of different size bars. Until I get a 372 it's only option I got at the moment
  4. Hi all I'm after either a 24" or 28" bar and chain for my husky 61. I have a lot of oversized trees that need ringing up the 20" I have on there at mo is good but the extra length would be easier. Just looking for the best price for a chain and bar.

  9. Yeah it's nice and heavy and not plasticy. I will be happy when it's just running
  10. Ok will have to find someone with one. I just don't want to pay out too much on this old saw.
  11. Yeah plug soaked. I've tried looking at starting procedures as my old man had a saw that if you had choke on you could pull all day long and wouldn't start leave it have no choke and fire after 2 pulls.
  12. Compression test done got good compression. Got a spark and fuel getting through. This is becoming a nightmare now bloody thing still won't start.
  13. How about a Nissan cabster can't go too wrong with a jap vehicle. There is one on eBay at the min with box already fitted to give you an idea.

  15. I'm not sure what carb is on it will have to check when I compression test it. Mrs had me shopping with her today so not had chance yet. I stripped the carb down and it was all pretty clean. I just want to get it running before I spend too much on it as I know it's an old saw but all I can afford at the moment.

  18. In stock in Dorset was shown it today shame the wife was with me lol.
  19. Who ever had it before me had the wrong fuel line on and had Abington in it that was perished and split so got a proper one today and fitted.
  20. It tries to start after pulling till you can't pull no more then that's it again.
  21. I've put new fuel line on as old one was not letting fuel through. Cleaned carb piston and ring seemed ok through port
  22. I haven't put tester on yet but pushed finger away sharply when I tried.
