  1. If your cobblers killing beings just to make a pair of boots something's wrong. Leather in my boots is a by product of the meat industry, which itself keeps the countryside alive via farming?
  2. Know that feeling mate, just working out what to sell to fund the new saw . Got to be cheaper than fuel through the chainsaw though, so worth pushing the boat out I think. I'll try and get info from importer tonight. Cheers.
  3. Thanks Mark, couldn't find any prices online but google through up an old post from you on here. Did you get one? Can you remember how much they were? Think someone in the borders was doing them a while back but can't find them on the web.
  4. I'll have it if you can tip at NE65 8DA
  5. Cheers for the info, looks like electric only on the 10. I'm looking for petrol/diesel engined if poss.
  6. Anybody seen, used or know someone who has one of these mills? Woodland Mills Cheap tat/expensive mistake or alright for light part time use? Any opinions (on the mill ) appreciated.
  7. We've gone over to PayPal, after years with barclaycard and then card save. Used it for past two years, slightly higher fees are easily compensated for by ease of use and greater legal cover. Great iphone app too.
  8. Depends on the spec of steel used, makes a huge difference on cost. Think you'd be looking at £150 + stock. I'd be tempted to get the framework at least out of the heaviest stock you can.
  9. I've milled beams 12' 8x3 for building sheds from it and was very impressed with it, maybe easier to move about and sell as 8' untreated sleepers. Think they go for about £20 each?
  10. Had navara, hi lux and two defenders but stuck with our 09 2.5 rodeo isuzu for longest period and will keep it until it dies. Done 100k, only had a clutch, front pads and set of tyres. Tows every week, used and abused off road, service it often myself for pennies, avg 29 mpg, chipped but with off road biased tyres. Only bad side of effenciency is complete lack of character!
  11. Is it just firewood grade stuff? How much per ton? Cheers, Lee
  12. Ok, shows how good a deal I'd been getting at £30 ton! If I can come and get a 2.5 ton and see about getting a wagon down for some 6m. Just let me know when your ready and I'll come down. Cheers, Lee
  13. Great, could you give me a price (per ton is what I'm used too but seems to be cubic metres now) could I collect some 3.6m on Friday? Can you load me or will I need man power?
  14. Cheers for replies guys. Elfin what are you cutting? Worth travelling for something good. I'm looking for 3.6 and 6m straightish poles at the minute, ideally between 15cm dia and 60cm dia mx
  15. What's the best way of sourcing felled timber? I used to collect 8' and 12' softwood and the occasional bit of hardwood from a local feller who has retired and now finding it hard to source round logs. It's handy for me to have rounds as my needs vary on our small farm from firewood, building, temperory propping etc. All local wood yards want to sell is process beams, posts or slab wood. And can't get an answer from scottish woodlands to try and buy from the roadside landings round here (northumberland NE65 8DA) Anyone know of independents or subbies who might sell like this operating in this area? Cheers
