Had a price of £1850 inc materials for 205m 2 rail and 15m 3 rail. That seems very reasonable and in line with the prices your talking.
-
I don't think he made a mistake. How can 1pence be typed in as £500.00 by mistake. He can also change the starting price any time before a bid has been entered if he wants! He's hoping some one will pay him £500 for the tree for the pleasure of chopping it down and taking it away.

I get some ex army tent sides from a surplus place in Nottingham. I picked them up initially off Ebay but can't find the advert now. They do all sorts of sizes and they are heavy duty canvas with a waterproof wax on. She look brand new and they do have window hatches but they zip up. I have some about 20ft x 12ft which I use over a poly tunnel frame and they don't blow away due to their weight and are waterproof and don't rot away in the sunshine. Its this sort of material and I pay £20 for them. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Army-Vehicle-Canvas-Bedford-MJ-REAR-sheet-/272073105541?hash=item3f58d22085:g:FMYAAOSwT5tWQiwN

Best passenger car 6-cylinder diesel engine?
playtent replied to TimberCutterDartmoor's topic in General chat
I have a 535d and I think its probably one of the best diesel engines ever made. Its the 2nd 3.0 BMW I've had and reliability is excellent in my experience. I also have a discovery which has the 2.7d in. 67k so far and no issues and probably one of the most silent diesel engines I've heard but not as nice as the BMW. I have also had the 330d (excellent) a A6 3.0TDIQ which was also excellent but not as nice as the BMW, especially to drive. I also had the A4 2.7TDI which seemed a waste of an engine as it had 190bhp but used almost as much fuel as the A6 with 240! The newer 3.0d in the discovery 4 is meant to be really good but I have no experience of that. If I had the choice I'd go with the BMW engine every time over the Audi. I'd personally steer clear of the Vauxhall after having a 2.5d in an Omega which gave me no end of trouble. The newer 525d is actually a 4 cylinder now with a paid turbocharges. Very economical though. Merry Christmas -

Do you think people care about buying British? This quote sums it up... Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home and grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV whilst burning Latvian firewood in their Chinese log burner. And the most British thing of all? Suspicion of anything foreign!!! Oh and!!!!! Only in Britain... can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance. Only in Britain... do supermarkets make sick people walk all the way to the back of the shop to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front. Only in Britain.. do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a DIET coke. Only in Britain... do banks leave both doors open and chain the pens to the counters. Only in Britain... do we leave cars worth thousands of pounds on the drive and lock our junk and cheap lawn mower in the garage. Only in Britain... do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place. Only in Britain... are there disabled parking places in front of a skating rink. NOT TO MENTION... 3 Brits die each year testing if a 9v battery works on their tongue. 142 Brits were injured in 1999 by not removing all pins from new shirts. 58 Brits are injured each year by using sharp knives instead of screwdrivers. 31 Brits have died since 1996 by watering their Christmas tree while the fairy lights were plugged in. 19 Brits have died in the last 3 years believing that Christmas decorations were chocolate. British Hospitals reported 4 broken arms last year after cracker pulling accidents. 101 people since 1999 have had broken parts of plastic toys pulled out of the soles of their feet. 18 Brits had serious burns in 2000 trying on a new jumper with a lit cigarette in their mouth. A massive 543 Brits were admitted to A&E in the last two years after opening bottles of beer with their teeth. (All tree surgeons) 5 Brits were injured last year in accidents involving out of Control Scalextric cars. and finally......... In 2005 eight Brits cracked their skull whilst throwing up into the toilet. Makes you proud to be British!

Looking for free unprocessed wood - Harpenden

Welcome to the forum. Why don't you see if they will give you their chainsaw with a tank of fuel to save using your own? -
I get it from the manufacturer! Firefox 5.1 Multifuel / Woodburning Stove - Stoves Are Us Above is a non Defra approved stove with a 5" flue. So whichever way he meant it, he was incorrect.
-
Incorrect, there are loads of 6" flue Defra approved Stoves, here is just one. Firefox 8.1 Cleanburn Multi-Fuel / Wood Burning Stove - DEFRA Approved - All Stoves - Stoves Are Us Where do you get your info? Hardin backer board IS suitable as a closure board, I never said it was suitable as a register plate so I'm missing the point of your post completely?
-
Building control by me are £129. Stove install into ready made fireplace varies from £750-£900 using 316 twin wall or £900-£1200 using 904 by me in the West Midlands. £250 for flue and bits (904) + £130 to certify it. £380 v min £750 (316) to £900 (904) I agree, I earn £400-£600 a day after tax all the time so I'll just pay a Hetas fitter to spend 4hrs doing it while I'm out earning that £400-£600 a day to pay him.

316 twin wall flue is perfectly fine and now comes with a lifetime guarantee from some places. The difference is quality of stainless steel, nothing else. My father had a 316 in for 18 years before it rotted through. He has an 18kw back boiler stove burning smokeless coal aswell as wood and any general rubbish he has. All his wood is self sourced generally unseasoned and usually conifer or some old bits of fencing, skirting etc. He doesn't have any other form of heating in the house so it's on 24hrs a day in the winter. A register plate is for open chimneys in order to create a seal so the chimney has sufficient draw. A closure board on a flued chimney will stop the heat going up and the crap coming down. Hardiebacker board is perfectly suitable from B&Q or Tilesrus for this purpose and is a concrete based waterproof board that is quite easy to cut. All of these questions are answered in the Stove Fitters Manual online. My building regs sign off cost nothing as he was already in inspecting for an extension.

316 is not just for gas and is perfectly fine for solid fuel. You don't actually need a register plate if your fitting a liner. There for open chimneys to stop hot ash falling back down the chimney. With a liner you use one just to stop the usual crap coming down like rain. The stove fitters manual online is free and gives you step by step guide to fitting a stove. The Stove Fitter's Manual | How to fit a wood burning stove The chap from building control who signed my last one off was an ex brick layer who told me he knew nothing about stove fitting. He said use common sense and they have been fitting them for more years than he had been alive without regulations and it was a waste of time him looking. Vermiculite is for insulation of the liner in a cold chimney, ie a chimney that runs up the outside of a house to stop condensation in the chimney. The flue liner, cowl and flue adaptor can be had for less than £200. http://www.flexifluedirect.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_32&products_id=930 If your house burns down and its fitted correctly your insurance will have to pay out. If it's been fitted by a professional incorrectly and your house burns down, your insurance won't pay out. You would be chasing the fitter and his insurance. It's easy to do and do it properly and you won't have any issues. Cheers
