    Trying to organise my squad for this coming planting season so I know what to take or not, If your intrested in joining my squad drop me a Pm with a bit about your self and experience, Works start in Oct-Nov weather dependent and will be planting through to June. 99% of the work is based in Dumfries and Galloway.     We have started the weeding the area, Its basicly impossible to price it unless doing man days, How longs a piece of string type of situation. More men the better as you feel like you achieve nothing in a day. Roll on Novembre when we start planting again!

    That's the problem I would prefer a day rate but the land owner wants hectare rate and think he will get a shock when he realises how much works involve in it as even im surprised how long it takes and I work quick compared to other squads.

    Could anyone help me been asked to price a Job hand weeding conifers with a Hook or similar tool, trees are stocked at 2700 to the hectare and most of the area is pure bracken, The landowner is wanting a hectare price as well rather than a Man day. If anyone could give me a hand with this would be great. Thanks

    Has everyone nearly finished planting for the season? We have a few big jobs left and can see us planting into July this year which is not ideal but most of them are cell grown trees so not so bad.

    Looking for 1-2 people with PA1-PA6 for Weevil spraying and herbicide in forestry plantations in Dumfries and Galloway works to start soon, Must also have first aid certificate as its a Forest Commission Site. Good rates of pay. PM me for more details.

    I would say cull the deer if don't want to spend money on fence or tree guards, I work in tree plantations everyday and in my area its the hares that are by far the worse for damage to trees.

    How many meters do you guys average per day for stock fence in decent enough ground..?

    Good Restocking sites we average between 1400-1800 a day only once did 3000 in a day and don't really plan to do that again as could barely walk the next day...

    Tree Planters job for coming season Start in Oct/Nov, Previous experience preferred but If you have a PA1 and PA6 pesticides qualification this is also a good advantage.. All work based in Dumfries and Galloway PM me for further details

    Im still planting away we should be going right up till the start of June not great for the trees as the ground is dry as a bone, but if they want them in that's the way it will be..
