  5. I have only just started my buissness and i was told that i wouldnt need employers liability but now i know i actually do like you say probly better safe than sorry, Thanks for the advice and sorry for the false information in the first place...
  6. If you dont directly employ them you wont need employers liability insurance, I just have my labour on a self employed basis as i do seasonal work and i only need public liability insurance..

  8. That is pretty much the standard rate after a few weeks you should be able to put 1500 trees in the ground each day that's £90 a day not a bad wage. But it also depends on site if you get a site thats a really steep hill you will struggle to plant anything like 1500 so I would expect a small amount more on them Jobs Were are you planting..?

Im just about to start my own business and I have some contracts that are looking fairly promising they will come through, My only problem Is I am trying to figure out how to pay my staffs wages I thought about opening a business account and just using an overdraft till I get my first few invoices in, Because I don't have the money to be paying my staff just off my personal account.? What are my options ? Thanks

  15. Hello thank for your help yes i have 8 years of experince of planting and am wanting to go out on my own. I think i might do the PA1 as well then beacuse most of the trees i have planted in the last 3 years have been chemicaly treated. Im thinking of doing the PA6 later date if i know i will get spraying its £290 just to do that one day course at my local college and im wanting to get the most training for my money that im pretty short of at moment anyways.
  16. Im thinking of starting my own tree planting squad what would the forest commsion and private firms be looking for from a contracter training wise ive booked my self on a Forestry at work first aid course thought this was a good start. any other ideas to what training might help me get work ?

  18. I know this is not stickly Arboriculture but i was woundering if anyboady has ever did knap sack spraying (wevil) for commision or private firms and was woundering what qualification they ask for. Is the PA1 enough or do they want the PA6.?
