  1. Hi all, I'm looking for any of the above, available for any temporary or permanent work, also available to do days within about 20 miles of Hartlepool, Co Durham if anyone needs an extra pair of hands on a job. North East preferred but North Yorkshire, Cumbria and Scottish Borders considered. Full clean driving license, First Aid cert, planting equipment, and will be booking in with East Durham College for Chipper and PA1/PA6 certificates soon. Please PM me. Thanks,
  2. Hi. I'm still looking for planting for this season. I have shovels and bags, a First Aid Cert, driving license with vehicle, experience and the work ethic req. Even just a couple of weeks before Christmas to help a crew out? Thank you Frazer
  3. Still looking. Now First Aid trained.
  4. This time last year i'd had ten days planting. Today i've signed on! Two months without work have crippled my finances. Living the dream..
  5. Nothing being done in any rush this year seemingly. Soon be snowing then they'll want trees in in Summer time when it's as dry as a bone and they've started waking up again! Strange industry
  6. I'm after some tree planting this season please ladies and gents, experienced and with my own bags and shovels. Own car but i'm based in Co Durham so not looking to go to far North of Scotland ect for 6p a tree..! I have a well behaved Spaniel who will be coming with me. Please inbox Asap Thank you
  7. I finished in mid-April. I know my crew continued on a bit longer but I had other work on. I personally prefer quality over quantity, but at the low prices paid, unfortunately there are some planters that plant trees every which way but up, in order to make some kind of money..
  8. Alright, Does anyone have any spaces / work for a tree planter for the rest of the season or minimum 6 weeks work? I'm currently planting in Dumfriesshire however due to various issues (which i am happy to discuss in private) I am looking to move on. I have the gear, I am self employed and have my own transport. I've sent a few messages and emails off but no reply as yet.. Cheers
  9. That's what I'm thinking. I put 1,600 in yesterday about 1,200 of which were those claggy roots thick with mud that weigh about fives times the weight of the 'normal' trees. I'm currently walking like John Wayne with a knackered back off them, all for 6 blasted pence !! Maybe I'm being dramatic! Time to tell the contractor to stump up! No pun intended...
  10. I'm doing a bit of re stock planting through the winter for the Forestry Commission through a contractor. What is the going rate, per tree, roughly? I'm currently getting 6 p per tree and i'm thinking it's far too low?
