Whitebeam -- Sorbus aria. (Alder doesn't have berries.)

There must be weight on the hitch. Think about it, if the trailer is rear heavy the hitch and the rear of the vehicle are unweighted. This means that the rear of the trailer becomes controlling and has a negative influence on the front of the trailer (hitch) and the rear of the vehicle. There's a lot more activity at the pivot point than there should be. The longer the trailer the worse the problem because the weight (think pendulum) is farther from the pivot.

That simple.
Given the plant spend I am assuming, perhaps wrongly, that this is a densely planted mixed border or borders. Blanket spraying isn't therefore an option and pre-emergent would see off any perennials.

A friend uses lots if this stuff, it's called strulch: https://www.strulch.co.uk
Works very well but very expensive -- not many suppliers. Contains a weed suppressant.

As said, there are no shortcuts. £60K is an awful lot of plants or not so many but big. Must be an extensive planting.
Hoeing is good but best on a bright day; Cape Cod weeder; small fork or trowel; spot spray with Roundup where you can.
Get them out before they seed and when you're done fine bark mulch as deep as poss.

need more info. Veg beds? Bedding plants? Herbaceous plants. what weeds? annuals? perennials? I think you get the idea
This. Do you want to sow seed now? Later? Replant?

Don't forget to discount for the hole.

Have you tried twisting the locking mechanism back on the cap first, then try inserting it and locking it ??
This. Hold the underside of the cap and twist the top to the unlock position before re-inserting and locking.

20 tonne digger and a landscaping rake or a mahoosive tractor with rigid tine cultivator. You will probably need to disc it down after.

Made a few of these from solvent welded PVC pipe. Lots out there, e.g., Koi carp/pond/irrigation/swimming pool equip. suppliers.

Thanks Stubby,
42cc 'High Torque', so between the 535 and the 545. (Not sure if the High Torque bit is just marketing speak.)

I'm a fan of the Husqvarna 535RXT. We need another machine and was thinking to try an Echo SRM-420.
Any one run one? Any good?

Without seeing a mature leaf I think Robinia is a good shout. Young growth has the pea like look of Robinia. (Magnolia would be well in leaf by now and leaves are too small.)

No need to sharpen pointed bits facing the ground and bring blade down onto material you will be surprised how quickly you will demolish a bramble patch and not much left to clear up
So true. Start at the top and work down. Also works a treat on bamboo.

Crikey, there's one in a feed bag next to my shed. Better get it in a pot.

The red parts are the unfurling petals of the flower.

Can't help only sympathise. I had exactly the same problem with a 14HP Briggs & Stratton Vanguard on a Logic mower.
I went right through the fuel system: stripped the card several times, new filter, new pump. Put it into a local small engine guy who declared it fixed but it wasn't.
I suspect it's valve related.
Can't be without the mower so swapped the B&S for a 14HP, electric start, Chinese unit.

Cheese. I travel light but my wife tops up with Manchego

Incidentally, I have noticed in Spain (and possibly elsewhere) they usually plant three or four trees very close together and they grow into one another (adding to the gnarly look). Why is this done?
Do they? Most of the best examples are solitary 'standards'. It will only take 100 years or so to achieve the look you want.

Both are a terrible idea, either fell it or leave it alone

Accountant makes major VAT return error...

Just call HMRC and explain the situation. They should be able to scrub the return and your accountant can resubmit.
