  1. just noticed this thread and I wondered if the Dolmar saw is any cheaper than Makita ?

Makita have an offer on at the moment for a 50cc chainsaw in a steel carry case, wondered if Dolmar do the same set up?

can't see a lot about Dolmar in the UK but if it's the same saw but cheaper Im thinking of getting one.

You need to talk to two of the members on here who deal in new Dolmars which are imported , I think Makita s are good but I m lead to believe Dolmars are better .I got two Makita s a DCS 500 and a DCS 9010 both seem good saws had the DCS 500 for over 4 years now.

  2. Seriously considering a dolmar 9010:thumbup:

Having a demo of a 661 next week and then will make a choice. Wife still rattling on about an eternity ring and the Hoover packed in tonight so need to find the keys to the kids piggy bank:lol::lol:

We ve got a Makita 9010 only had it for a few months, we ve got some big butts to cut up but couldn't afford a Stihl or husky. So far seems a good saw.

  3. I got a complete pto power pack from a local guy who bought it at mod sale,

He could not get it working with the oil in it, I offered him £90 he took it, he bought it for £400

You just plug the hydraulic splitter straight in.

I now run the spitter off the mf35, on about 1000rpm good speed on the ram. And it sips the diesel.

    Have you any pics ?

  4. I m looking for some chainsaw boots I don't have a big budget and I m a part-time user but I see on eBay a load of the wellie type boots have come up for sale my main concern is are they comfortable to wear and will they make my feet sweat ? Thanks

  5. I m looking to buy a petrol driven log splitter top end of my budget is £1000 ,I split all sorts of fallen timber and some arb waste .I used my mates machine the other day which is a 7 ton table machine but it struggled a bit with some twisted oak so was looking for something a bit bigger . So guys and girls what machines should I look at ? Ideas please . Thanks

  6. Thanks for replies the reason I ask is to do with my other tread about new saw dripping oil on floor on tick over I get the impression they going to say that's the way it is ,so was wondering if thicker oil would help ?
