just noticed this thread and I wondered if the Dolmar saw is any cheaper than Makita ?
Makita have an offer on at the moment for a 50cc chainsaw in a steel carry case, wondered if Dolmar do the same set up?
can't see a lot about Dolmar in the UK but if it's the same saw but cheaper Im thinking of getting one.
You need to talk to two of the members on here who deal in new Dolmars which are imported , I think Makita s are good but I m lead to believe Dolmars are better .I got two Makita s a DCS 500 and a DCS 9010 both seem good saws had the DCS 500 for over 4 years now.

Seriously considering a dolmar 9010:thumbup:
Having a demo of a 661 next week and then will make a choice. Wife still rattling on about an eternity ring and the Hoover packed in tonight so need to find the keys to the kids piggy bank:lol:
We ve got a Makita 9010 only had it for a few months, we ve got some big butts to cut up but couldn't afford a Stihl or husky. So far seems a good saw.

Some are only 9hp others are 13, does the £609 include delivery?
Do you have to pay an import tax ?

I do a few logs for myself and other people but its not my occupation ,my main concern is how do you match engine power and pump pressure also splitting force . I split all sorts of wood from fallen trees to arb waste . Thanks

As title what do I need to know ? How do you know what engine and pump you need ? Thanks

I've got a half built splitter mounted on trailer with Honda power pack, ram, levers etc, just needs a day or two faffing about if your interested
Where are you ? Have you any pics ?

I got a complete pto power pack from a local guy who bought it at mod sale,
He could not get it working with the oil in it, I offered him £90 he took it, he bought it for £400
You just plug the hydraulic splitter straight in.
I now run the spitter off the mf35, on about 1000rpm good speed on the ram. And it sips the diesel.
Have you any pics ?

I had a Rytec, it was a very well built machine and I wish I had not sold it.
Thanks for your reply was it a petrol machine ? And what splitting force was it ? Cheers

Lawnflite look to be the same machine as handy. But handy are cheaper. Quite a few different names and colours but made in the same factory.
What a Chinese factory ?
