  1. Just to clarify, are you saying banning Roundup is not a good idea?

If yes, is your sole justification economics?

For real??[/quote Bad idea no the economic argument I was thinking of was pushing up the price of food because there is a weed in arable farming could blackgrass this is becoming very difficult to control and its a yield robber but roundup helps to control it without... roundup vast areas of UK farmland become very difficult to farm .Roundup used professionally in safe hands is a very low risk chemical the problem arises from people like Friends of the earth and their dislike for genetically modified food because roundup is made by Monsanto which is heavy involved with GM food so try and ban roundup you stand a chance of no GM in this country plus you might sink Monsanto . The press gets hold of all this and causes a perfect storm plus most of the research done ie the most recent is done by someone who has agenda against Monsanto so...... Farming has used roundup for 40 odd years with no issues as others have said there is nothing to see here you have more dangerous chemicals under the kitchen sink but you treat them with respect the same here .You would ban bleech because someone choose to drink it .

  2. Not a good idea at all from a farmer who uses it a very bad idea it would cause us massive problems with economic crop production and the start of a very slippery slope remember this chemical is having a hard time because of the name monsanto and GM, another case of don't believe every you read plus its us is all about risk . Petrol if drunk is highly toxic and why would you drink it the same applies to this chemical why would you drink it ?

  3. I m off my feet currently because of cellulitis ,unfortunately I was planning on going to Lamma next week which is a agricultural trade show. Anyhow I was wondering if there are any trade shows where I could look at chainsaws log splitters and log saws but the smaller sized kit .Hopefully when I m back on my feet I would like a look .Many thanks Ian

  4. I might look at aspen never used before so will look into how much it costs etc it's pleasing to see most like the 395 thanks.

As for the 039 it's a 1997 model I brought off eBay 3 years ago for just over £100 it's only on 2nd bar and has never put a foot wrong for me, the oiler is a it stingy but not the end of the world. In fact I am very attached to this saw and would never sell it. Well for now ha ha

Thanks for you're reply what size bar do you run on it ? Cheers

  5. I recently asked on here about a big chainsaw for running 24" bars and decided to go for stihl 460 or stihl 064 both looked good but after some time thinking I didn't want to spend too much on a saw that was used and end up splashing out on repairs or Risthat anyway. So decided to apply for finance and get a 395xp off RF Jones with the bosses permission of coarse. I know some will say should have got a 661 but don't fancy the drive to pick it up. I hate London to many people in a rush for me I don't play well with other I'm told :001_smile: Anyway was after some advice on best fuel to oil ratio to use? And best 2storke to use? I use 33/1 in my 039 and seems fine. Any hep would be great.

Sorry to hijack you're thread but how do you get on with you're 039 ? Thanks

  6. I have a second hand 357 xp but with a new piston and pot fitted before I had it which I use a 15" and a 18 " bar on .Anyway I m starting to love it and its beginning to make me smile . Now I m looking for something a little bigger to complement this saw something like a tidy used 365 so I can use a bigger bar on the big stuff or perhaps a stihl equivalent or something else . Not earning a living from these saws and I m happy to keep looking till the right saw comes along any ideas and is the 365 a good saw ? . Thanks

  7. Iam pretty sure they don't have one for that model the muffler below is what I always get now when somebody wants a new non Kat muffler for there 5105

Pretty sure that's the same as mine thanks

  8. I needed a new bar for my chainsaw current bar is a Oregon 180mpbk095 with a 325 050 1.3 mm chain which it very happily runs its a Husqvarna 357 now I know its probably not the recommended bar but I m happy with it .Anyway I saw a Carlton equivalent bar on eBay but it doesn't fit the problem being the chain doesn't fit the sprocket on the bar the sprockets on the bar stick out to far to take the drive links on the chain . Any ideas ?????? Thanks Ian
