  1. All,

Been using my 346 this morning as its eventually stopped blowing a gale & raining.

Must admit puts a smile on my face when ever I use it!

    pic taken last summer

Never used one but looks a nice saw
  2. Not had the pleasure . What did the write up say ?

Obviously not a long term test but really rating it .It was in a farm machinery mag. Quote its the ideal saw to have around on the farm, especially as it didn't once grunt at being asked to cut through a 24 " wide tree truck . Its light enough to use all day, while offering the versatility to be the only saw in the farmers shed .Its a good ,straightforward chainsaw . Strong and robust. unquote . They are the closing remarks.

  3. I ve seen a write up about these saws are they any good ? My logging partner runs a 290 and is interested in updating his saw . I know they are not the same grade of saw that you professional guys use so what are peoples views ? Thanks

  4. As some of you now know I lost my best friend last Friday, so I thought i would post a few pics of my boy at his very best. This is still a bit raw for me but a good excersise, to deal with it.

His heart was failing and he was getting weaker by the day, so I took him for the big sleep and this was the hardest choice I have ever had to make in my life bar none.

I'm not ashamed to admit I've cried like a baby more in the last week than in my entire life, Buff was soooo much more than just a dog and I miss him like you wouldnt believe.

Mans best friend.... Buff certainly was, and then some.

Hi sad to hear about your sad loss in the last couple of years we ve lost a terrier and a cat both sadly missed ,I ve cryed tears upon tears for both of them ,tough times . All the best for the days ahead mate .

  5. I know its been done on here before but I m interested in the above saw ,I don't make a living using saws but I cut a lot of firewood so is this saw worth a look ,its within my budget and I m not really looking else where.Just interested in peoples thoughts on it really . Thanks Ian

  6. Right educate me please, I ve heard you guys taking about porting an engine .What does this mean how's it done what's the cost ( estimated) ? Also I heard you guys talking about other engine mods about mufflers and spark arresters ? What's that all about ? I have a Makita 9010 is this prime for modding ? Thanks Ian

  7. I ve had a chain made up but its one drive link to short and its been a while since it was made and company don't want to know .Can it be extended by one link and is this OK to do because I asked where I got it from and they didn't want to know. Or am I better putting it on eBay its a brand new chain never been used ! Thanks Ian

  8. Today we were talking at work about the problems people are having with new saws such as auto tune , with this in mind is finding and running a older saw such as a StihL 029 or a husky 350 a good option ? Also for a older saw how long would parts be available to keep the saw running ? The guy I was with has just had his saws nicked and he was looking to restore his husky 55 to use instead of buy a new saw.

  9. Andrew still very interested in the 5105 but could you give me a price on the other 50 cc models that dolmar do so I can compare with the makita models .Thanks Andrew here's to a good 2016. Ian

  10. What's the difference between Makita 5121 , 5030 and 5000 I understand there are differences in HP I was looking for operator opinions ? And as a part time user would I notice the difference ? Also I found a used 5000 that's not had a lot of work for half the price of a new one are they a good reliable saw ? And yes I m interested in a Dolmar as well .Thanks I know there are lots of variables but I would like to glean as much information as possible before jumping in .Cheers.
