  1. Thanks guys, there is no point in short cutting especially safety of your work force. Going halves is pretty fair both parties win
  2. Yes i did do the Lantra chipper ticket a few years back. I subby guys in who clearly know how to use a chipper. Was just pondering it today. In the long game recognised tickets are the way to go.
  3. Excuse my ignorance for not digging through the threads. Hse states that appropriate training must be given to operators of a chipper. Can i give the appropriate training, document and get employee to sign? Cheers all.
  4. Hi all, I'm hiring in a mewp for a week and will only need it for 3/4 days. If anyone needs one on Friday 19th for anything, please give me a call 07981347747. £200 for the day includes IPAF qualified operator. NORTH CORNWALL. Cheers. Ant Tree Surgery & Fallen Trees - Launceston North Cornwall
  5. Photographed in Coronation Park Launceston at the foot of a Lalyland type conifer
  6. Due to a cancellation climber with chipper available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday this week. Please pm for rates.
  7. A tow hitch on a 4x4 can be good or concrete/granite post if your lucky, I've never had the occasion for a 'soft' anchor and I suppose you cant tie to thin air so mmm not sure on the soft side
  8. I was thinking about this idea, it could work especially if you can network with other Arb guys, not everyone has a mewp and if your reasonable with your rates should be a good adventure. GOOD LUCK
  9. Personally i break it down to a day rate. Don't get greedy and be able to explain the cost of what your doing. If a bulk of the job is ringing up and shifting log explain the time it takes and the transport costs. I suppose what I'm saying is be clear and break down the cost. The customer can always 'save' money by dealing with the waste saves your back. One last thing, ive learned that its better to be honest with man power needs nothing worse than getting the job but struggling.
  10. The guy asked about lowering light stuff durgh i cant see it causing any more damage than the everyday use of your very own climbing line. I crotch rig on dissmantles regularly makes so much sense especially to get the tips off big branches that have poor drop zone.
  11. I would never use a micro pully to lower use a krab in a sling if its small. Or lower using a crotch.
  12. Looking for a second climber/groundie for part time work. I run a small business out of Launceston cornwall and need a dependable second man. You must have CS30,31,38,39, first aid and the certificates to prove. As a small firm i can't guarantee the amount of work but there is an opportunity arising at present where a constant work flow may start.
  13. Hi there, I have a 2006 Timberwolf 150DH and the Fuel Stop start solenoid is playing up. I have measured voltage in the solenoid clip for pull but not on hold. I also seem to have intermittent glow plug light? Also What are the fuses on the PCU??? And the Relay? Kind Regards Anthony
  14. Hi there, looking for a self employed climber/ groundie for occasional work in Cornwall and south Devon. Based in Launceston but work all over 😃. Looking for a good worker who listens but also has experience. Could lead to further work. Pm me or send me an email [email protected] Ant.
  15. I took of the solenoid and the engine fires up lovley and runs.bhad to poke an allen key in the solenoid bay to turn the engine off. Put a fluke on the plastic connection plug and got voltage through it when on the ignition so i assume the switch is to stiff and not retracting or there is not enough current going through. Im taking it to JCB Holt today in Bodmin.
  16. Hi there! My 2006 TW150DH has been running fine but in the last two days it was struggling to start and today it wouldn't start at first. After warming the glow plugs as usual and then turning further to crank, the starter was turning the engine but it would not fire. Eventually it did on full revs but at lunch it was switched off and would not start again. We did the following: Checked the fuel checked the fuel pump worked by cracking the screw valve on top of the second fuel filter. Fuel was flowing on the glow light. checked the both fuel filters bleed the air through the fuel system After some google action I think maybe the fuel shut off solenoid is faulty. Any ideas? attatched is a picture from the user manual but I couldn't find the solenoid marked so ive circles in green what I think is the solenoid. Cheers ArbTalk!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ant
