    Socks!

I wear my Dekine (spelling?) snowboarding socks when its cold or a thin pair of socks with a thicker pair of hiking socks over the top.
  3. Does seem like i opened a can of worms !
  4. Confirming my thoughts thanks Any stories from people buying high houred machines and running them with sucess for a couple of years? Really torn between buying new and.. well.. cheaping out a little. Dont really see the point in buying a low houred machine when i could a new one for not a hell of a lot more. If i was going second hand id be looking at £5-8000 for a machine. As i said ive seen a few now some with about 5-600 hours in poor condidtion and others with very high hours but stacks of paperwork for parts and upkeep, some really smart high hours machines out there. As for new Id be looking at about 20k tops but I cant afford the full amount and didnt really want another monthly outgoing.... That said, it would be a warrantied machine so would have to factor in as much for monthly upkeep of replacing parts.
  5. Bit of a silly question i know as many factors involved but wondered what you guys thought in regards to second hand chipper hours. Same goes for cars or vans really, mileage/hours isnt really an issue if looked after and serviced well. Been looking at a range of second hand chippers lately some with 500 odd hours and some upto 2000 hours. Its an open question really, just some thoughts on the matter would be great
  6. Sounds fine, i dont mean to be rude but i would like get my friend to see the chipper first, will take 5 mins, is that ok? Afterwards i can email you to talk about the money. Kind Regards, AND THE REPLY WAS = "I have to come from Poland to Foveran as I am the one with the keys and I can't do that based on words. So the neighbour can't take COD without the keys to the yard. I explained how we can do it through ebay. ebay won't pay me until you receive and inspect the machine so I do not see the problem. If it isn't as described, ebay will send the money back to you. If you want to proceed, then send me your ebay username and delivery address. Then I will start the transaction and you will receive all relevant info from eBay. Once ebay confirms that the payment is with them, I will come to Foveran and give the keys to my neighbour and he will then deliver it to your address"
  7. Yep, best little chippers out there. Maybe more than you want to spend though.
  8. Had that reply from another seller advertising a Timberwolf with 80 hrs on it....
  9. "I do not live in Foveran, I live in Poland so I can't go there every time someone wants to see it, plus I can't go alone as I am a woman. I will get somebody to bring it to you (a neighbour of my late grandfather) if you decide to buy it but we have to close the deal through eBay. Delivery will take 3-4 days and you will have the chance to inspect it before I get paid. You send the money to eBay and then the chipper will be delivered. Everything is covered by eBay, they will keep your money secured during the inspection period. This purchase protection guarantees that the chipper is exactly as I described it; basically, once delivered, you'll have 5 days to inspect it and if you decide not to keep it you will get refunded in no time and they will charge me with the return costs. I will get paid only after you confirm that you received the chipper in good order. If you want it, let me know your ebay user id along with a phone number and your name, address where it must be delivered so i can register the sale with ebay to proceed. If you will decide to not go through now then is not a problem I still quite have a few more offers from potential buyers. Hopefully, I made myself understood and we will be closing the deal. I look forward to hearing from you soon Thanks My number is 01224946781 which is forwarded to my home number here."
  10. Yep ford Galaxy again!! I forgot to add the female Poles that came to help were lifting huge sections and just slinging them on their shoulders to carry them, the client said he had never seen anything like it! wish they had left a number for future reference
  11. Had a massive job on this week clearing a very large fallen gum. rootplate completely out of the ground. Finished the job Wednesday leaving about 4 truck loads of wood to collect today which i had arranged to do with the customer. there was large stack of rings ( 3 man lift on each) and a large pile of the crappy dirty roots. Got to the house this morning to find all the crappy sections of root where gone! Leaving just rings, the customer said he had a knock on the door from a polish chap asking if he could have them for free? Customer said yes and 10 mins later a people carrier turns up with 3 women, 2 blokes and a trailer.... apparently they filled the trailer with the roots then filled the car!! front passenger seat aswell! Saved me hours in loading and tipping, customer had told them they coulndt have the rings also as he thought i wanted them, had visions of them stacking them on the roof!
  12. I was aware the first run had some issues but as said mine is a later saw which ive had no problems with. I always thought the X61's where more restricted by EU emissions etc than the older x60's ? Same with the 200 v 201? Porting is overkill for i feel for the little gain but a muffler mod may help it pick up a little quicker? Kinda in the dark here and i do have a selection of larger saws but the 261 is used the most so was more wanting to free up any potential is has but not wanting to offset reliability etc
  13. Despite its poor reviews from many on here its been worked hard everyday almost for over a year now and never missed a beat BUT the warrenty is now out so im looking for any ideas to get a little more poke out of it? Muffler mods?
  14. Thanks will look into all options suggested
  15. What sort of monthly fee does that attract scraggs? Does your terminal also print a receipt?
  16. Very good point on the fuel, driving to bank etc
  17. Yep seen the Paypal one also, very similar to one i linked above.
  18. @ Jay I assume you pay a monthly fee for that service? Im not doing firewood at the moment and would only guess 2-3 card payments per month maybe? Barclays offered me a system but the monthly fees where a LOT. 2.75% commission is a fair bit... 2 jobs at say £650 each in a month and i may well be better off paying for a monthly plan @ £12-£45pm
  19. Thanks for the input guys. Anyone able to find web link with full spec of the machine? I couldnt really find alot of info on the web regarding the 330mx
  20. Been looking at card readers, mobile and the plug in phone line jobbies. Just wondering how you other guys take your card payments and what system do you use? Saw this today in JL - Buy WorldPay Zinc Chip & PIN Keypad online at John Lewis Key Features: Secure, trusted Chip & PIN technology. Easy to set up, easy to use. Works with and approved by Visa and MasterCard. There are various plans available to suit your needs, with the pay as you go plan charging just 2.75% per payment. Sign up for an account on Worldpay Zinc’s website in 5 minutes, and be ready to take payment, usually by the next business day. Take payments using your Chip & PIN and Bluetooth compatible device with a WiFi or 3G connection, anywhere, anytime. Payments paid directly into your bank account, usually within 4 working days. Send receipts by text, email or print to compatible wireless printers. View details of all your payments including daily, weekly and monthly summaries. Compatible with iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and smartphones & tablets running Android 2.3 or higher. Has no monthly fees just takes 2.7%, not a huge demand for card payments i find but would be handy to have as some customers have asked if they could pay by this method.
  21. Any comments or reviews on these machines? Not much info via google with regards to spec etc
  22. Love it. what kinda load can the quad take?
  23. would get them off but would need to be re torqued afterwards. think best to phone around in the morning then failing that Monday morning shouldnt be an issue getting some, just will waste a couple of hours but lesson learnt
  24. Yes Rich your correct they are countersunk heads.
