  1. So my van was broken into in clifton either mon or tues this week. No kit inside but the fuckers broke my lock and took my filing kit. Out of spite i reckon. And this evening the chap i sub to has had his van broken into in long ashton as he was having a meal with his mrs after work. They got a 201t, backpack blower, rigging and climbing kit. But worst of all his kelly kettle. I'll see if he has serial codes tomorrow when i see him. The fair is in town and its a bit coincedental that we have both been broken into near it. Keep an eye out.
  2. Are you interested im sub contractors or just paye? Im in the bristol area looking to fill a few days.
  3. If may throw my 2cents in. From reading this post and your adverts for work you've put up from time to time. It's clear you lack the experience to be a subby climber let alone run the show. You may have been lied to by a college or trainer about how the industry works. But remember there a business too. In my opinion your not even a half decent climber until at least 2-3 yrs experience. When i first started as "climber" straight out of college i was terrible. Knew the principle lacked the technique and strength. I even thought about sacking it in. Who hasn't right? Im 10 years in now working as a subby and looking for a truck to do a few jobs myself and go from there. My advice would be similar to the other guys. Dont give up just yet. I worked in a post office and a pub part time when i started. Cut logs and hedges for little old ladies in the village. Even biked 15-20 miles sometimes. Or even volunteered for free just for the experience. Do you have a wife and kids? If not buy yourself a camper van and pimp yourself out wherever the work is. If not keep trying in your area. But dont put all your eggs in 1 basket. Hope this helps we've all been there. https://arbjobs.com/job-listing/4742 Also look up teign trees and landscapes. Bit of a trek from you but they offered me a job at the end of the summer and seemed decent enough. Chin up mate.
  4. Hi guys. Long time member/reader first time poster. I'm moving to Norway at the end July - August time. Going to a city called Stavanger. I'm going out there mainly to help my friend run a trampoline park! (I know it's a bit mental) so I'm not going to be desperate for work but I would still love to do a bit of tree work as i'll earn more money doing that. I'm currently a team leader for a company in the cheshire area with 9 years climbing experience and most of the relevant quals, so by no means a novice. I'm having a bit of trouble finding companies in that area. Only seem to find Oslo or Bergen. If anyone knows a company or a friend out there who could point me in the right direction that would be amazing. I may well end up doing a month in Oslo or Bergen as the park opening date has been pushed back a bit. Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers Josh:thumbup: ps: here's the trampoline park if anyones interested. not fully built yet but will be the size of a football pitch. https://www.facebook.com/Freedome-by-SkyZone-Norway-532434753588363/
