  1. In South Derbyshire/North Staffs; £5-8k per acre. Mid to north Derbyshire £6-10k, more if it goes to an auctioneer. I've seen it as low as £3k per acre with a TPO.
  2. This is probably not exactly the right context, but it may help in building up a bigger picture. I've just had a TPO placed upon a small plantation woodland which I manage for firewood. The LPA fell at the first hurdle by virtue of the fact that they didn't inform me (the owner of the wood) or, in fact, many of the adjacent woodland owners/managers and snuck the TPO through. When pressed about the potential loss of earnings due to their categoric refusal to allow thinning, the LPA verbally stated that no form of compensation for this loss was available....It appears that my LPA are not conversant with the relevant regulations, yet apply them without forethought.
  3. Does this one have a stick start the same as the TE20? If so, the starter solenoids are notoriously dodgy. I've suffered with a cracked plastic casing on two solenoids which wouldn't allow the contacts to connect.
  4. I'm on the lookout for suppliers of peeled chestnut posts of 4" by 5'6" and. 6-8" by 8ft or in the case of the latter I'd be willing to look at oak. There appears to be no suppliers in or around the national forest (Derbys/Leics/Staffs) area, probably due to the lack of heritage for growing and use that the south east has in abundance. Any pointers or leads would be most welcome.
  5. Nice work, I'm impressed at your first attempt.
