  1. Do you mean Ternex? I've got their original sawmill
  2. Timber shouldn't be a problem at all. I could price this up for you if you want?
  3. very nice! Can I ask the make/spec of the laser? Is that a multi rip in the back ground, Just seeing what looks like the door/bearing and support frame?
  4. Hi HB98 when you say a commercial venture what do you mean by this? this will help identify the saw you need to get. what is your finished product e.g. wide slabs, boards, rails, beams etc. what is your target output m3/hr or logs/hr what is your sawyers experience? what equipment are they familiar with? how much 3phase do you have? are you going to have a resaw? personally i would avoid narrow band because i cant see it producing fast and accurate cuts, this is very important. how did you get on with mebor? im aware their pricing has increased recently you might be better going for a resonable used mebor just to get you going kind of thing then upgrade from there
  5. I've always been tempted to sharpen wide blades because the saw service quickly adds up! but then the output should more than cover this so i would rather spend time milling and paying a decent saw doctor.
  6. It would be easier to buy an automated mill as it will pay off in the time it takes to perfect the modification. however you will need a motor and gearbox that communicate with a potentiometer and a setworks computer like Mudata - not the cheapest of components
  7. Monday 3rd lunchtime was when they messaged informing me the move would be on Wednesday 5th, I asked for a requote on Tuesday 4th. They have 4 or 5 lorrys going up and down the country daily
  8. Haulage company has loaded for us before and we have used them a few times over 4 years. They were sent a photo of the machine along with dimensions and weight
  9. Hi all, I would like to know your thoughts on this? Thanks I have a machine in Wales needing moved up to Inverness, Scotland so I messaged a lorry to get a quote. The first quote was very good so I approved and sent locations. However the machine needs to be loaded and unloaded as was asked in the first message and the price didn't reflect this. So I called him up and asked if he had included loading/unloading which he had not - I asked him to quote again (also sent a screenshot with the text for loading/unloading). I better add this was on Tuesday lunchtime and first quote was collection for Wednesday. Anyway on Wednesday lunchtime I get a call saying the lorry was on site and he was trying to organise a crane for £650. I replied, it seems too much and you haven't quoted for the full job. I didn't hear back until Thursday morning when I got a text saying they never managed move the machine and they would need compensation for lost time and money. I received an invoice for £420 this morning. Also found out that they didn't want to wait for a crane at 3pm so left and went to another job along the road. Also on my side of things the machine ideally needs a lowloader and I never told the lorry guy this, I had just assumed a lowloader hiab would be the most cost efficient choice. The way I'm viewing this is that without receiving a quote I haven't agreed and haven't permitted his actions as I require a quote to compare against other quotes. we have a quote from the machines previous owner which was for a lowloader and we would discuss collection times, loading requirements etc.
  10. Interpump 66 Series MPU with Valves & Filter - Dual Pumps WWW.DUALPUMPS.CO.UK
  11. have a pcl blow gun at 14 cfm to clean wood going through a moulder and yes it will remove the occasional lump of grit or dirt but never gets all. Its worth getting a powerwasher to clean logs we're running 41lpm and 210bar with a high flow turbo nozzle, savage!
  12. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fao.org%2Fdocrep%2F015%2Ft0270e%2Ft0270e00.pdf&psig=AOvVaw1x9PhJimxNC50xoulBbwCX&ust=1635978741541000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAsQjRxqFwoTCID7v_Hd-vMCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAH heres a link to a maintenance manual based on stenner saws pages 50/51 are fault diagnosis for wide band saws
  13. Stenner had parts on the shelf for our 48 and were helpful. We need to make a thread on wideband mills, how to install and safely operate. I don't have time to do this right now but if you have any questions just ask!
  14. Theres two left in McGregor's Inverness, still available to order too so now's the time to stock up on good old saws!
  15. very good to hear the saw is still working. My day was spent resawing boards on a 48 and id expect it to last forever too! you cannot compare modern narrow band against a production wide band mill
