Ok Mull, well if that’s what really fills you life  full of joy and happiness crack on, I can’t really blame you as you are obviously a child of the past 14 years of SNP failure and indoctrination where lack of achievement or success is deflected:justified by a blame the English for everything doctrine. I thought it was a good game myself.
As an aside Mull I’m currently on Uist working and quite frankly it’s understandable why you have a drink issue.

Poor Uist. I’d think the result filled 99% of Scot’s with joy😆.

snp, drink! Keep up with the personal attacks old boy, suits you😉

Yes, that’s quite sad. But it doesn’t detract from the utter joy of seeing England papped out the competition and these pathetic pundits being put back in their box. Sublime🙂

I've got a couple of jobs through here.  Had a few folk work for me through Arbtalk.  Sold a few bits of wood through here.  Got lots of ideas how to do things differently or more efficiently.  Had some good laughs at the jokes thread or some of the general comments.  Got frustrated at some of the less helpful contributions.  Think I've been a member for 11 years now, still don't know how the badges work or what they mean, but I keep coming back.  I'd definitely miss Arbtalk if it went up in smoke tomorrow, of all the tree websites it's the most useful to me - UK based and more helpful than a lot of the others which tend to be more pissing contests.

have to admit I’m a fan of a pissing contest, lost a few though.

  4. Not surprised to hear how much this forum has helped people, stumbled on it pre 2010 looking for advice on how long a bar I could put on a husky 50🙂, it was a big fallen beech I was cutting for firewood, ended up buying a saw from a guy on here. I was a pain in the arse back then but I am glad to say I’ve managed to keep that going to the present day. @eggsarascal and @mendiplogs have been a big influence 🙂

Simple for me, I’d be doing something else.

Yes, the simple answer Mark👍but what is the question? Guess I’m asking if this site “saved you”?  Or indeed has any meaning in your life?

    I appreciate it’s a “ big “ edit!!

I think the meekest of us now will be considered stupid, selfish, greedy shortsighted bastards in 140 yrs time, and I guess we are! More so than the grafters in that pic.

I see I’m banned from World Cup thread, why so I wonder?

    Pretty desperate state of affairs.

They are damned if they bin her and damned if they don't...

I knew people would come to regret taking a dump on Boris - oh the irony, those that seem to have the most to loose from having done so are within the Tory party 😂

You’d think you’d be pretty much buggered if you were “ damned if you do or damned if you don’t”, it kind of sounds like there is no way out, you’re basically f**ked!

not in politics old boy! Bring it on, nothing to see here!

    Christ it’s grim.

I think you may be guilty of holding  the words you write  in posts in too high a regard, Not interested in winning any arguments or in reality give a shit about what you earn, I never commented on your boasting first time  round or indeed was upset by it, as like I say you or your earnings mean absolutely nothing to me. As for my mentioning what I do that’s common knowledge to those whom know me on here 🤷‍♂️. I could easily talk about day rates but never have in the years I’ve been posting, I was always taught growing up not to be boastful or brag etc but 🤷‍♂️ we are all different. The point was show a bit of humility, not everyone is lucky enough to be in a position to welcome the interest rate hikes as you evidently do. Your “ I’ll let you have the last word statement” is utterly childish behaviour which seems to not fit in at all well with your self proclaimed extremely rare  set of skills, ill take it that along with boastfulness is another part of your character make up.

    🤣. I’m a great guy and sadly you’re not😆

this has to be one of the funniest posts I’ve read on here. You’re fond of yourself, I’ll give you that!

I was listening to a fella on the wireless earlier, he claimed to earn £400k/year, he said he would be £12k up... he also said he wouldn't be spending anymore money than he does now.

    Trickle down, I ask ya!?

If you feel your vote counts, you’ve been had.

the expensively educated have it! Never been any different!

Did you mean to quote my post? I can't really see the relevance, other than trying to have a dig at posts I've made in the past.

He did. He’s a prick who spends his arbtalk time trying to pretend he’s not a prick.

Politics aside, I think January, maybe early February will see massive disruption. People don't tend to take to take the streets in winter, but this is different.

Should be a good turnout, half of them will be living there anyway.

You wanna go to the well, burn or Lough wi a bucket, and drink the untreated water ?

Never mind disposing of all your shite within your own curtailage?

And obviously all that infrastructure, dams filterbeds, resovoirs and pipes are totally free to provide and maintain?

    Scheesh!

That was sort of my point.

The current madness you see regards energy prices being hiked would be exactly the same with water meters if implemented. Be careful what you wish for, essential services such as water being an even more profitable business than it already is  ( masquerading under environmental credentials) for companies that only has one driving force ie profit is a dangerous road to go down. As was the case throughout the last couple of years of stupidity a targeted sensible approach and educating people has to worth a try rather than sledgehammer nanny state approach.

Water? A natural resource like oil? Why should they charge for the provision of that?🙄

…and women too I guess! We are a generation of weak men. Sitting at home or wherever on our gadgets trying to outsmart each other[emoji3] quite sad really.

    Bumper sticker philosophy.

    Yup.

You’ve sat on your gadget and outsmarted me.
    Not difficult.
