  1. Ive found our local woodland officer to be incredibly helpful, supportive and patient with a genuine interest in working together to get a plan completed. Felling licence was written up within agreed time frame. Guess its luck of the draw who you dealing with.
  2. Hi, Just wanted to share a video of eucalyptus takedown we did a couple of weeks ago on brilliant sunny day. The medium sized tree (by UK standards!) needed some rigging as there was a fence, retaining wall and patio below. Its my first crack at doing a video so took a bit of time to get to grips with editing etc. I recommend watching in high definition 1080(bottom right of you tube viewing screen, go to settings and opt for at 1080) The music is "Wandering eye" by Fat Freddy's Drop. Enjoy!
  3. Hi sean, we don't know each other but have mutual friends and colleagues. I truly wish you and all you and the family all the best of luck and strength.

  6. Hi There, I have a branch logger TMH70. In short this machine cuts brash into differing lengths of 60-130mm (this cannot be set) and fires straight into net bags. I have been very impressed with this machine. The machine deals with brash similar to a small chipper i.e similar to timberwolf 125 although a little bit more persuasion needed at times as the machine doesn’t have rollers to aid brash intake. Production is impressive with upto 50 big net bags in one hour (16bags full = 1 cubic metre) with 2 operatives and decent brash to process. Very attractive and unique propostion for domestic treework customers who are keen on utilizing all of their tree for woodfuel also for woodland work you can turn your brash into profit! Can also be used to process mill off cuts. It’s an exciting prospect that adds more potential income to our treecare industry as well as a step forward for tree and woodfuel sustainablitlty. Material diamter is 70mm green softwood/ 60mm green hardwood down to 50mm seasoned hardwood. My proposal is aimed at other tree surgery and woodland management firms as well as hedgelayers, estate owners and countryside contractors. Introductory hire price is £150/day + machine fuel + plus net bags used. I’m based in the Stroud Gloucestershire. I’m willing to travel within reason but will have to charge travel for jobs that aren’t local. That includes myself (arborist/woodland manager) with 8 years experience (NPTC CS31,32,38,39/first aid). Willing to muck in with anything tree-related if machine isn’t running, although I would charge a bit more for any climbing. I will be adding be posting a short home made promo film within the next 2 weeks of machine in use. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for any further discussion. PM best. Many thanks Patrick Tree Surgeons Stroud, Gloucestershire - Treeation

  8. Hi there, Im sure this has come up before but couldn't find it for the life of me. What it is is Im planning a job in South France for a week for a couple of guys. I have contacted my insurer (TRUST) who have confirmed that my public liability/employers insurance is still in tact when working abroad. The problem is we are not insured for any business related injuries. We have tried a number of travel insurers but they wont touch us with a bargepole as soon as we mention tree surgery. The job is quite a big one and we are working in the arse end of nowhere so feel its important to get this sorted for peace of mind. Anyone had any experience with this??? Thanks in advance:001_smile:
  9. Really great photos!! I know this grave yard very well. Spent 6 months full time clearing ash and sec regen here 7 or so years ago on a lottery funded project. Very tight felling (from ground) and really difficult to not hit grave stones or get hung up. Some of the grave stones were so fragile that they would crumble if you brushed them with a bit of brash. It was a a shame that a lot of graves had been forgotten about. It was a great project and a steep learning curve.
  10. Id love a hydraulic one! but at the moment I have no vehicle access to woods til dry weather kicks in so has tobe done manually. Its only 15-20 tonnes to split. Cheers
  11. Hi jon. Its is mainly ash and sycamore and splitting for firewood (1m long billets). Tried high lifts but don't really want to trash them. Rather save the high lifts for felling so looking for something a bit more bombproof. Wondered if the bahco twisted ones were any good.
  12. Happy New year! I bought myself a t532 tirfor with a 25m cable as crimbo present. Ive used it a couple of times on straight pulls for skidding wood up a steep bank and pulling over a couple of stems apart from that im a complete novice. Im pretty keen to learn the art of winchcraft and use it as efficiently as possible so any tips would gratefully accepted. My tip is to save time coiling up cable at end of job use an old scrambler tyre and feed cable into inside of it. Keeps tings nice and tidy! Many thanks Patrick
  13. Happy New year everyone! Just wondering whats the best wedges to use for splitting billets. Thanks in advance Patrick
