  1. Some pics of tree fungi needing id. Pic 1. Found on base off false acacia. Possibly turkey tails? Is anything to worry about? Pic 2.& 3 found on limb 12ft high on a weeping willow. Seem to be same fungi species but in differentstages of ddevelopment. Pic 4. Found loose under beech veteran at sabernake. Presumably had been shed higher up in tge beech crown Thanks for your help in advance!
  2. Good work nice one. Enjoyed the somewhat quirky editing if treework shots, nice tuneage too. Looked like a nice place to work.
  3. Its a nosecone off a jetfighter Client cut out the hole and used it as a playhouse for the litles ones who have now flown the nest. They wanted me to take it to the tip but I thought it is to good for that. Torn between using it for a useful secluded pooing unit in the woods or letting the little ones use it at a base up the woods. Not sure the missus would ever forgive me if i tried to tick both boxes?
  4. So it seems that unless your tree surgery business grows to a medium or large business theres not much to be made as selling it as a whole. For those who are happy to stay small what do you reckon the best way to invest your profits are bearing in mind if you wanted to sell up after 5-10years and wanted the best return? Obviously decent websites can be worth a few quid, buying kit will hold some value if looked after, vehicles and machinery too. Any other ideas? shares? buying yard space? Would interested to hear your thoughts:thumbup: Cheers Pat Tree Surgeon | Tree Surgery | Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud, Cirencester
  5. Are the legs sand blasted? Love that effect?
  6. That is well lush! Nice work !I reckon around the £500-£750
  7. I would highly recommend BTCV fencing and hedging handbooks. Really great reference for any kind of boundary work!I have used mine loads. Only about £10 each on amazon. You wont be disappointed! Also, I would try and get hold of some sweet chestnut for stakes and strainers lasts 30years in the ground with no treatment and supports traditional woodland management techniques like coppicing. Most treated softwood stakes aint going to last 2 minutes these days which is going to cost you a lot if you have to replace the whole fence line in a 5-10years!
  8. Yesterday's job produced a classic freebie!
  9. Probably should have mentioned before. It is an evergreen with aa strong fragrance. Smooth grey bark. I am actually wondering if it could be Drimys winteri aka "winters bark"
  10. It maybe possible that seedling roots have fused to the larger beech and the poison has made its way into the larger beech. I have seen this happen in sycamore where we had to fell and treat stumps with glyphosulphate in a woodland. The poison killed off the intended stumps but ended up killing around dozen more neighbouring sycamores. We had to go back and fell them.
  11. Cheers. Was at Bristol zoo gardens. Lots of cool trees there A fine day out for all if you ever get the chance!
  12. Yes it is the same tree
  13. I thought Portuguese laurel perhaps?
  14. Hi anyone know what this?
  15. I did 2 flights with easyjet and no problems.
  16. Hi there, yes I took a few chainsaws last year on an easyjet flight to France. What I did was emailed easyjet before hand and got in writing that it was ok to take chainsaws and what preparations were needed. I printed this out and took to airpot just incase there were any problems. Best double check the latest requirements but last year we just had to ensure all fuel tanks were bone dry. We took bars and chains off and wrapped up the dogs on the saws. We had no problems with security and everything went smoothly. Hope tthat helps
  17. Yep its wandering eye by fat freddys drop

  23. Well done Well put together, love the shots from the drone -their awesome! Nice sequence of action but have to agree that the PPE is a bit slack and for a promotional video I personally want everything to look as professional as possible. Nice work all the same
