By waterproof side zips, do you mean on the pocket or on the side flap zips?

Have just bought one and can't fault it apart from the side flap zips arnt waterproof and some rain managed to leak through, for the price they are I'd expect them to have waterproof zips all round.

  2. Hi,

A bit embarrassing, but does anyone have a pic or diagram for the trigger mechanism.

Have changed the trigger cable due to it breaking, took it apart methodically and put it back together the same way but can't seem to remember where the dead mans trigger spring goes.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

  3. It seems to be ok running cutting and starting when hot, it's the initial start which is causing the problems. I will try what was mentioned with the carb screws.

From fiddling with them before, once it's started and warmed up I have been able to tweek them so it idles and runs ok. It's when I come to start it the next morning it's a right pain.

  4. I'm still yet to get one as I have been put off by the rope dia. I can't justify getting a new rope for this setup just yet as the one I have still does me well with the hItch climber.

If I am able to get the feel of the RW with the 13mm I will get one?

How much are the Bourne tethers?

  5. How can this be checked? And is it a easy fix? I'm looking to keep repair costs down to a minimum by doing as much as I can myself, if there are various potential problems, would it be better to just send it to get repaired?

At the moment it does still run after starting as mentioned so it's still getting used, but I know running it as it is probably isn't doing it much good.

  6. I will try that.

I have screwed the carb screws back in and turned them out by the number next to them.

The diaphragm in the carb has been put back the same way as it came out so would only be the wrong way if it was from the start. It's been running fine for until recently.

I don't know a huge amount about engines so bear with me if I ask obvious questions.

  7. Hi, just trying to cover as much as possible before I give up and give the saw into the repair shop.

The saw has had running problems for the past few weeks. It's had a fairly new air filter and fuel filter, roughly how often do people changer theirs?

I have stripped down the carb and made sure the small gauze is clear of crap.

The running problems it from cold starts. First the saw wouldn't stay running and I had a fiddle with the carb screws, and ended up giving up. After I had probably flooded the engine. After a an hour or so if leaving it, the saw seemed to run ok, I did tweet the carb screws to at this pout so it would run well.

Now every time I start in the morning I alsmost have to flood the engine before if will think about ticking over and running ok.

Is there anything else I can check or change that would be an obvious first thing to do before I send it in to the repair shop?

I will change the air and fuel filters just in case this could be a problem.

    Cheers for any feedback

  8. Hi, I know there are many other threads on the Rw but looking to get one. Had a browse on YouTube for different setup and it came up about rope dia.

I have Yale magma ice 13mm would this be suitable for the zk2?

Also for the stiff tether honey bros have their own one, is this any good or are there others. Bearing in mind I can't splice so would struggle to make my own?

    Cheers for any feedback.

  9. I take it you had to tie your rope off at the top? In that case your hitch would still work without the need of the figure8 wouldn't it?

Yes tied in to the top with a long tail, I didn't try descending with just prussik but assumed it would make the decent smoother with the fig8. I agree that the distance between the prussik and fig8 should be larger as the prussik did sit very tightly to it.

  10. Hi,

I'm looking for some advise on a custom email address.

My current address is free from an American site and I get bombarded with spam, also when emails are sent out to customers it sometimes goes straight into their spam.

This is the main problem as I either find they don't get what I have sent or I have to follow it up which can seem as if I am pestering them.

I do ask for a reply but don't always get one.

I am looking for an email address that will eliminate the spam my end and get through spam the other end.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Cheers

  11. Hi,

Does anyone have or know of any chip dumps in or around cheltenham.

Due to the amount of rain we have had recently, our usual sites access is saturated and can't get near it with a tipper.

If anyone does, could you give me an idea on costs too?

    Cheers for any help
