An opportunity for an arboricultural or landscape officer has arisen to cover a fixed term contract to March 2018 for a Council in Kent. This role is fundamental to supporting both the Landscape Management and Arboriculture elements of the Council's team along with working closely with highways operations . This position would suit a candidate who is looking to gain technical experience in the public sector; candidates may be studying for a level 3 qualification or already have one within Arboriculture or Horticulture.You may be an arborist who wants to give up climbing but still work within the industry in a non hands on role while considering under taking further training or qualifications, or a candidate with some knowledge and experience of working in landscaping. The main part of the role will require you to review new enquires and where possible resolve these at first point of contact which will involve follow up calls with members of the public. There is also a requirement for general administrative duties which will include managing email accounts, preparing meeting minutes, works ordering, managing incoming enquiries for first point resolution and providing procurement support for the team. As you may be required to undertake site visits from time to time you will need to hold a valid driving licence. Access to a vehicle will be provided.
