As the title says looking to sort out a price for a land owner on beech and ash per hopus foot the trees are still lying were they were felled so i will be milling on site and transporting my self some is not accesable other than on foot the logs are all around 16" - 24 " across thanks in advance ian

  7. Hi, anyone any tips on drying Maple is it to be treated the same as Sycamore and end racked for a while? or can I stack it normally until it goes into the kiln
  8. im hoping celotex insulation is a a good material as i have a fair bit of it in 100mm and 50mm the only thing i can see that might be an issue is the foil on the surface making condensation i can get the other syroflex stuff but it mean spending money

    <p>After leaving the RN I went into railway tree work for 11months then 6months of domestic. I quit that to do retained firefighter training. I walked into another tree job once that had finished and that's where I've been for the last 9months. I've been trying to source my own work but without the capital to buy a truck I've not been trying too hard </p>

    <p>Courses wise I did the combined course at Kingswood I think it's about £4000</p>

    <p>Climbing kit will set you back about £600. Plus about £300 for spikes and flip line</p>

    <p>Saws - climbing and ground saw around £1200 depending on what model</p>

    <p>PPE was around £400</p>

  14. the mill isnt mine it the charitys i work for i would have advised them on getting a diferent mill setup ut im stuck with the lt15 shame the customer service is so crap
