    i have AN ORIGINAL GRCS and i profer using my home made one the original one is a pain to carry in a bag as i work on the railway gotta walk a fair way !

    has anyone used the portable winch pcw 5000 ? it sounds good but every video ive watched the logs they pull look poor

    weight dosnt mean much when you have the boom out so far !

    the weight dosent mean anything it would depend on how far the boom was!

    it feels like the cogs are to close and there notchy if you get what i mean ha only clockwise

    ok cheers mate its just when under load and i wind the winch clockwise it feels rougher than anticlockwise. the only reason i wondered this is because ive got one that i made out of a lewmar 46 st winch and its so much smoother than the harken grcs

    hello mate does yours feel rough under load with the 18 to 1 gear ?

    yeah the brass drum one .when i put load on the 18 to 1 it feels rough like the gears are too close .just wanted to see if anyone elses feels rough ?

    yeah bought it new i have stripped it bare and cant find anything wrong .i phoned harken and they said it shouldnt feel rough .just wanna see if any one else's winch feels rough first if not then gotta send it back

    to be onset that looks pretty good ive made alot of theses the splice is so simple you cant go wrong there so light and strong !

    bought the new grcs and the 18 to 1 gears runs rougher to the 46 anyone else had the same ??
