  1. Not really. If you allow it to lapse then after a certain period 75-90 days someone else could register your domain name and pinch it. However there is nothing stopping you cancelling your web hosting with 123reg and transferring the name across to another provider, subject obviously to terms and conditions. If your really stuck PM me and I can register the domain name for you if you paypal the fees to me :-) .
  2. You pay 123reg £6.99 for them to register the domain name (treesurgery.co.uk) with the domain registry (nominet for .co.uk) for one year. So you are basically leasing the domain name for that period of time. If you decide you no longer want it you can let the name expire which means that someone else can then lease it. If you wanted to keep the name you can set it to automatically renew and on top of this they (123reg) will email you to tell you when theres 60 days 45 days etc etc until it expires. On top of the £6.99 you would then have to buy website hosting or if you only need one page most of the domain registrars like 123reg will give you a page or so for free. Dan
  3. Never used 123 but if they are anything like Fasthosts I can understand why your having problems. 123-reg hosting (Webfusion) is rubbish. - Wurwal Design - Web Design & Graphics Portfolio of Freelancer Thomas Wurwal If they'll let you cancel (big IF) go to Rochen they are fantastic.
  4. TBH I've already been in contact with them with regards to doing a course but will probably do my CS's and try to get some experience/knowledge on the job before I start the academic side of things so it makes a bit more sense Just waiting for my spare car to sell on fleabay to pay for the CS's
  5. Hi Mat, Would you consider and adult (33) apprentice with previous business experience?? And what sort of pay would you be able to offer? Feel free to private message me back for further details but as a rough idea I have run my own (non arb related) business and am a dab hand at internet marketing and website building (should you need it). Just looking to move into arb so dont have any certs yet but willing to pay for my own CS30, CS31, CS38 and CS39's to get me going. Thanks Dan

Sorry I'm new to this but does crack help you when climbing trees???
  7. I may well take you up on the offer of help as until I've got through my units I'm sure I'll need all the help I can get, suppose the main thing is getting some site experience but I assume I would need my first unit before anyone will let me near any ground work???
  8. Looking to do CS's with Blake Training or Lynher Training and then distance learning with Myerscough. Although if I can find a local college/uni who can do an attendance course i'd prefer to do it that way.
  9. Assuming it takes a regular SIM card Giffgaff do a PAYG tariff which has unlimited mobile internet and texts for £10 a month :-)
  10. Thanks for that Rob, I've obviously got my Bsc and Msc round the wrong way and like you say should learn to walk before I try running I'm no money bags so will aim for the 3 CS's to get me some groundwork first and like you say get proficient on the saw and at climbing before I start swinging a chainsaws round in the canopies. Thanks for the good advice and encouragement which is much appreciated
  11. 31 bids in the end and finished on £137!!
  12. I've just joined the forum and am looking to book myself on the CS30,CS31, CS38, CS39 and First Aid at Work courses ASAP to retrain in all things Arboriculture so am looking to get as much experience as possible before going onto an Msc in Arboriculture. I will be getting myself some kit shortly and work full-time (retail shop manager) but would be grateful of any odd days on the ground doing anything Arb related pricing up jobs, surveys, general labouring etc etc or even coming along if your going social climbing for the experience. I know theres not a lot you can do with me until I've got some tickets but if your likely to have anything in the future or need help with something arb work related please send me a private message and I will be happy to give you my mobile number for future reference. Thanks Dan
  13. This any good to you??? Just found it in another thread: Stealth trail Cameras and scouting Camera, wildlife and game cameras
