Looking for a set of sena type headsets and looking for a bit of advice. We would use them mostly on arb jobs etc however in my van I have a head unit that has bluetooth and a microphone for talking on the phone. Can the senas (or similar) connect to this? If they can I would look at fitting them to the digger,tractor etc so the machine drivers can communixate without wearing helmets etc

I assume you have spoken to wilsons and tested the solenoids? From what little I know about these (literally last few days) im not sure im not sure a worn clutch would effect the selection on the shuttle.

If it is the clutch it shouldnt be too much drama really. As long as you have a good flat floor 

Not sure if they use a similar system to the 6600 etc however just been deing with one that the delta shift wouldnt work, it turned out to be the solenoid that operates the deltashift valve. You can test/bodge this by swapping the solenoid from the pto valve 

I have recently bought a major 155 cut ad collect flail mower for a few areas on a local estate. 

It cuts ok however the problem is it doesnt pick up very well, the grass seems to block on the chute behind the flails between the flail and the collector box. 

Has anyone used one of these and got any tips? Currently thinking of cutting down the plate at the back of it so it doesnt catch so much.

We have a small 4 stroke petrol one, Its very good for what it is but it does have its limitations, I wouldnt want to use one for much more than a day, and certainly not on a production job. 

As a haulback for a larger winch it could work very well. 

I think Old Mill on here has a video of ours in use on one of his jobs recently.

We have just taken on a number of new felling sites for this season and need an extra person to help. Currently we have a site near Canterbury but other jobs coming up are in hailsham and Surrey area.

We will have a parcel of redwood to be felled this winter near to Redhill, Surrey, there is a total of around 20 trees that can be taken together or individually depending on demand. They are between 5ft and 6ft DBH, woodland grown.

good access for any size lorry. We are able to load onto flats with a telehandler.

It really depends on what soil type it is where you are, light sandy soils are no problems heavy clays are a real issue.

Try calling lycetts insurance, I was quoted around £1400 any driver, no experience on a 14t tipper. Also had the same response from NFU, I have no time for them anymore at all

We have an intermercato tiger grip on out 8 tonnner and it is brilliant. Wouldnt recomend anything else, had it for over 2 years with no real issues at all. Very strong and a great worm drive rotator

Always rate bfg muds above anything else, and I think I have tried most of them. A little more than some brands but last set I picked up were just under 100 each with frèe fitting!!

They have great road manners as well

Does anyone have the part numbers for the large seals that go between the the bogies and the diff on the bruunett?

Usually a great show, this year was the first time I havnt made it in a good few years.

There is always a great selection of engines there, and a few old bits of timber gear in the corners as well.

On another note it will be a shame to see george rose closing down, they have lots of smaller hire equipment. I guess its hard to compete against the likes of hss hire, jewson etc now

No, but I looked into them very closely a year or two back. I think they are a really useful unit and could really help with scrub clearance, thinning birch etc. However not sure if they are any better than a tree shear, what are you wanting to run it on. Richard Court is also starting to bring in moipu heads that look like a really good alternative. They do a small shear cut and saw cut model but with rollers and delimbing knives

Looked into a similar thing a while ago but decided for the expense of modifying 2 units it would be easier to just get a larger off the shelf truck.

Only thoughts with what your proposing is wouldnt the truck and trailer over 3.5t need air brakes? I imagine this would be a fairly costly modification?

Few pictures from this week picking up for another contractor. I dont usuallg drive the brunnett so it has been nice to have a few days out in it . Despite having to do a few repairs over the weekend. Cracked the grapple, easy repair, just a paint taking it off and dragging it back to the yard. Slightly more annoyingly I had a leak appear from this block undernerneath, it had been badly repaired with a mig/arc welder before. I cut the tube off the block, cleaned all the old weld off on the lathe and had a friend tig it back together. Hopefully should last a while now!!

Had this last year, I went for about 9months without getting the surgery. It went from being painful to limping, not being able to climb to struggling with druving right before the operation.

Be warned, when they say 4weeks it really isnt. 4 weeks and you will be walking without a stick, but it will still be tender. I didnt climb for about 6months after the operation and only started feeling 100% after about 9 months. Still gets a bit sore and stiff from time to time. How long have they given you till your operation date

Also happy to undertake site clearance work, we have a lots of equipment that will make the job easier, Tractor and trailers, purpose built forwarder, excavator with grapple saw, stump grinder etc.

I regularly use a tecarc 181 mig and its a good machine for the budget, not sure what the prices are like now though. The arc is not as consistent as the murex that I use from time to time but it is still a very capable machine .

If you want to double your budget the 200a esab migs are just over a grand and that is a hell of a lot of welder for the money

Managed a bit of time on it yesterday and this morning. There is a small cast box underneath the pto and 3pl levers that over time,around 30 years I imagine fills with mud, chip and everything else. I spent a good amount of time cleaning this out and the pto lever moves now although still quite notchy. However it os good enough to put back to work for a while now. Thanks for the help

I bought a generic pressure tester off ebay and an inline one from webtec that I have a few different adaptors for. Im sure its not as goot as a full combined unit but the whole lot was only a few hundred quid. Iv found it fsirly useful to have for setting up implements etc as well
