  1. Need some advice please. I am part of a small firm based in Devon trying to become more environmentally friendly. After most tree jobs we rake up the last bit of twigs/brash/sawdust/stones into a builders dumpy bag and take it away. Don't like to lose it in the flower bed or put it through the chipper as it invariably has small stones in it. At the moment the bag goes in a pile and when it gets to a certain size we burn it up. What are the other options to having a fire? What do you do when clearing up at the end of a job? Are the small PTO shredders any good or would it be better to get a firm in to deal with it and any idea what this would cost? Thanks in advance Paddy
  2. Just bought the knot guide, really slick. Thanks for developing more useful stuff to make our lives easier Steve
  3. We bought an Ipad for the business about 3 months ago. It is great, all quotes are written up on it, the diary is now electronic and all information is shared on drop box. We are going to start doing electronic risk assessments and even thinking of buying another one so me and my business partner both have one for when we are working separately. We tether to the ipad through our mobiles so didnt have to pay for an additional 3G contract.
  4. Or look at this thread http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/39718-site-clearance.html
  5. We were looking at getting one in recently. Spoke to these guys at Tree felling Services Sure they won't mind some free advertising
  6. Thanks for all the posts and advice. So if the logs are outside, off the ground and covered with a normal tarpaulin or silage sheet (even though not breathable), that doesn't touch the ground to allow airflow, in a years time it won't be a big pile of mouldy useless logs but nice seasoned firewood. Has anyone ever done this? Thanks
  7. Was wondering if anyone has ever used a breathable tarpaulin to season logs and where to buy one? Im aware a normal tarp will cause condensation and the logs won't dry. If I have the logs on pallets and cover them for a year will they be seasoned? Thanks Paddy
  8. I prefer to read and learn from this great forum but a quality machine like this deserved a post. Adding this bit of kit to the wish list
